HIDDEN GEM! We live close and I always forget about this spot. Went up on a Thursday evening and it was not busy. The sushi rolls were AMAZING. So fresh and flavorful. The King Toro (top right] was our favorite, highly recommend. Bottom right was Big Tuna and next to that was Yellowtail fantasy. The Yellowtail was perfect served with ponzu. If you're in Ballantyne area don't miss Jade.

Horrible customer service. Bad communication on the phone. And sushi delivery with ZERO soy sauce. When I called to ask about my order they said "it should be there" Yea... it should. But it's not. Absurdly rude staff. Never again. I wish I could have my money back because this wasn't worth it

What was once the best around is barely just above gas station service and food quality. Go anywhere else. Seriously.

We were underwhelmed by our recent experience. This place was completely dead at 6:30p on a Friday night if that tells you anything (only one other table seated).

Dining room laminate floors are separating and water damaged. Large spider web in upper corner of window suggested window sills had not been dusted in a long time.. Long table was nothing more than a bifold "card table" with a table cloth thrown over it and heavy white paper on top to limit the need to change linens.

Waitress greeted us in a reasonable amount of time but brought no utensils or napkins (we had to ask for these AFTER our food arrived...some two to three more trips and several minutes later.) She filled water glasses at the end of the table and asked us to pass them down (tacky)

We asked the server for a pen to fill out our sushi menu and she pulled one out of her hair and laid it down on the table.. NO THANK YOU.

Food orders took over 25 minutes to prepare and did not come out all together (there were 8 minutes between the first dish arrival to the last) prompting some to go ahead and eat without the rest of the party to avoid food getting cold. Portions were reasonably sized and taste was decent but unremarkable.

The waitress made a couple passthroughs to top off water but nothing extraordinary.. when the check arrived we were honored with a 22% surcharge for our party of 6. No wonder they don't feel compelled to offer great service - the tips are guaranteed.

Too many other great places to eat in Charlotte so I doubt we return.

We’ve been coming to Jade for years, but lately our dining experience has been exceptional! Jamal is such a delight. One of our favorite spots in town.

Updated review since new ownership
Huge step-down all around since new ownership. We went for dinner and ordered our usual dishes. The appetizers and rice n noodles were good. The sushi came out looking like it belonged at a China buffet. No effort whatsoever. Smaller rolls n higher prices.
It's a shame but I don't think we will be back.

Review for when the previous owners were there)I'd give them more stars if I could.

We have been going here for years. Alot of special occasions because we know we wont be dissapointed.

Every sitdown dinner has been delicious food and good service.

Takeout matches in deliciousness! And presentation.

We like the real sushi with raw fish and not just crab meat :-p always fresh and we leave with full bellies and satisfied.

The shrimp fried rice is soo good, not greasy at all and hits the spot.

You have to try the calamari too! Best I've had and the sauce is so complimentary to it.

Good afternooon,
I would like to tell you a little about a dinner that I had with my family to celebrate my nephew’s 20th birthday.
On Saturday evening 6/8/2024 we went to your restaurant to celebrate my nephew, who’s been sick and stuck at home for a while. We were excited and happy to finally be out of the house.
I chose this restaurant since I’ve gone several times throughout the years and the birthday person was craving sushi. We were seated outside.
When our waiter showed up he introduced himself but was rushing and didn’t slow down to answer questions.
I don’t know what was going on with the waiter but he was very impatient, short and unfriendly throughout our dinner.. We tried to ignore it, so it wouldn’t ruin the meal but it affected the family and ruined our time together. We wanted to do a dessert at the end with a candle but his mood just ruined it. We wanted to just leave.
When we got our check we gave him our cards then we realized that he had given himself a 20% tip. I’m not sure what your policy is for a party of 5 but he didn’t tell us he was adding a large party gratuity.
I didn’t realized until I had given him an extra tip that there was a tip already in our total. I asked him to take it off and I believe he did.
My husband and I tip very well but I don’t believe this guy deserved it. I was a waitress in my younger years and I thought a 20% gratuity was added for large parties of 8+.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Please remind your staff to be nice. It’s that’s simple. I don’t normally write about my experiences at restaurants but this guy’s attitude really impacted our family and ruined our night.

This place has potential but don’t spend your money here. There is always one man serving when I come here and he gets overwhelmed because he is the only one there. He is rude and dismissive. Last time I dined, I tried to talk to him and ask him for a glass of wine and he just kept talking and walking away. I just left after that. The food is good but not good enough for the price or to keep coming back for. There are other sushi places in Ballantyne with better food and better service.

Best Sesame chicken! Very different than any other version. I recommend ordering an extra sauce-great on the rice.
