I’m a regular on Montford for at least 10+ years, and Jeff’s is the place that will always offer a fun atmosphere, phenomenal people watching, outstanding service from Sydney, and the KJ, Jennifer D. I brought a friend from out of town to Jeff’s during the week, expecting perhaps some entertaining karaoke, cool music, and maybe decent people watching (because let’s be honest, whats better than watching strangers butcher their version of a classic karaoke song? ☺️), but instead, it was an outstanding time! My friend wanted to sing Miley Cyrus “Flowers”, but was having trouble nailing the lyrics. It was a semi-new song to hit the radio waves, after all. For my friend who was singing, it was *almost* cringeworthy, BUT Jennifer, the KJ, stepped in and provided spectacular “back-up” lyrics for my friend who was struggling with the words/timing of the lyrics. In my almost 20 years of bar experience have I ever seen a more accommodating, friendly, and supportive KJ ever! Thank you, Jennifer, for being a girls-girl, and sweet KJ. Thank you, Sydney, for keeping the drinks flowing for us, despite it being a holiday week!!

⚠️NOT SAFE, WOMEN BE CAREFUL⚠️ After a few good experiences at Jeff’s, I decided to come back with a group of friends. It was over crowded with poor music choices- however, not the issues at hand. My issue is that when I excused myself to go to the bathroom, the door did not lock. Because of this, I had my friend hold the door for me. While in the restroom, someone nearly busted the door down trying to get in- which they almost did because as I mentioned, the bathroom door would not lock! When we came out of the restroom, which we were in long enough for me to use and get out asap, we were met by a rude security man saying that we had to leave. I understand that multiple people should not be in the bathroom at the same time and for good reason- but even after trying to explain the situation the man was very rude and said he did not tolerate this behavior and that we had to go. As my friend had said- if they were not there with me, it could have been anyone trying to get into that bathroom- and they would have been able to. My intuition told me to take a friend and I am glad that I did. I can only imagine what could have happened to me, or any other woman, using that restroom by themselves if someone really wanted in. I went and told my other friends what had happened and we left. The only friendly staff person we encountered all night was the taller bouncer who checked IDs as we came in. Again, I respect rules and understand that they are in place for a reason, but I was humiliated twice to almost be walked in on while using the restroom and then again when we were treated so rudely after trying to explain the situation. Ladies- this is not a safe place to come for a girls night, or even in general, especially if the doors to the restrooms do not lock. I had loved coming to Jeff’s in the past for the fun atmosphere and dive-bar vibe, but after that night I will never be back. This is not a safe environment and the staff is very rude. To the staff and management at Jeff’s: please do better.

Essentially, if you don’t tip the DJ you’ll never get on stage. If you tip the DJ a little, you’ll still never get on stage. Basically if someone tips the DJ more than you, you go to the back of the line (but ahead of normal folks). If you just signed up and never tipped, RIP.
If they share who’s tipped the most with the next person (I have no proof of this but it’s the only way how i can think of that makes the price go up that fast), mega RIP. IE it’s runaway inflation. Sign up before 8 and not tip, and you’ll get to sing. To no one.
All while you’re racking up a bar tab. Used to love the place. Now it’s the equivalent of 8 dudes at a strip club trying to tip more to get a lap dance.

do not expect any good customer service, niceness, or care just by entering and choosing to go to this place rather than anywhere else. even if you are there with friends or a D.D. they will not respect you unless you buy something from them. the owner is money hungry and who will give you a hard time and stalk you until they see you buy somethingfloors are constantly messy, sticky, and have spots of shattered glass. sometimes they do not even let you sit down by taking the chairs away. the security are like the only nice people that me and my friends encountered when visiting. i would suggest finding another late night barexpect to spend a lot of money to have a decent time at most

Never eaten at Jeff's but the drinks are cold and the Karaoke is flowing, excellent dive bar as long as you can put up with 3-4 people a night channeling their inner Lady Gaga belting "Shallow" extremely off tune.

This place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the DJ ruins it. He takes bribes so you never get a chance to sing unless you drop him some cash. Also he’s extremely rude.
