Closed Temporarily apparently. Google says you guys are open but we drove all the way over to find the lights out and a sign half hanging off the door. Kind of a bummer.
We went about a year ago after several good experiences. My Chicago dog was good and the Coney was pretty good too. The problem came when my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. It basically had one tiny dried out strip of chicken and some brown iceberg lettuce thrown on.Everyone makes mistakes so I contacted them but never got a response. I know she shouldnt have ordered chicken at a hot dog joint but damn.....this thing was pathetic. The dogs were good but I cant go back because of the no response. I posted it to their FB page and it was removed so I know they saw it.
On my most recent trip to Charlotte my friends brought me here to JJ's Red Hots for lunch. Not being a Charlotte native I had never heard of the place, however I was apparently in line at "One of the best hot dog joints on the planet" according to the signage inside. As you walk through the line you'll see a large menu board with many options from Signature Hot Dogs to Build Your Own Hot Dogs. My menu solution was a signature dog called 'The Char Heel (Carolina Style)'. This dog came with house chili, slaw, onions and yellow mustard. On the side I had them fill the basket with Tater Tots. Another Hot Dog on the table was the 'Southern Girl' which comes with Pimento cheese, slaw, bacon and hot blonde mustard. The last entree was the 'Kasekreiner'. It's the monster of the bunch with Austrian beef & pork sausage stuffed with Emmentaler Cheese served with sauerkraut, pickled red onion & house made horseradish mustard. That just sounds like a 3 alarm fire. Both of the last entree's also came with house onion rings on the side.I have to say that my meal here was totally filling. The whole thing was huge and ultimately a bit messy. I guess the best way to say it was the more you ate, the messier it became. However no complaints, it was delicious and I wish we had a place like JJ's up in Coastal Virginia. I'd love to come here again on a future Charlotte visit. Oh and by the way, JJ's is "One of the best hot dog joints on the planet". No doubt about it!
I heard about JJ’s on Triple D, so I knew I had to check it out. The shop has a nice vintage feel to it, and the staff was helpful and had a great attitude! The dog was great, the bun was fresh and not greasy, and the onion rings were nice and crispy. 10/10 would visit again!
Easy, casual, delicious and friendly place!! I love it
Terrible! I will not be back.
Service was Awesome...disappointed to see the score as low as 90. Chili was not good..greasy taste like it came out of a can not homemade. Taters were good! Hot Dog was okay..price wise hot dogs needs to be bigger.
1st time here and it's was great. I haven't had a hot dog this good since I was a kid living in Columbia going to Sandy's Hot Dogs (back in the 80's). It's hard to find a great Carolina Slaw Dog here in Charlotte and this place has got them! The onion rings & house made chips are great also!
Had the Whistle Pig (great tasting dog with a boatload of toppings) with a side of the onion rings and everything was very tasty. Onion rings were thin and crispy and done oh so well. Can't wait until my next visit.
Really overrated and not worth the price. The hotdog itself is small and taste like nothing special. Disappointing

first time there. God for a quick bite or to hang out watching sports. staff super friendly. I will be back.
Great hot dogs with all the toppings you could want check out Tuesday special $2 hot dogs and beers
Good food- quick service!
Enjoyed the location, atmosphere, sides and service. But for what it cost (Plain pork and beef hot dog and tater tots $7), I can’t say I’d be back. You’d be much happier with the $1.50 full beef foot long hotdog and drink from Costco for what this place charges.
If you like a good hot dog this is the place to go. They have all kinds of toppings. They also have great tasting onion rings.
