Went today to grab a pastrami and looks like they are closed down. Very unfortunate because it’s the only place you could get a decent pastrami or Rueben in Charlotte. The people complaining about price clearly don’t realize how costly the ingredients are. A pastrami in NY is 30 dollars.

Way too expensive. 2 sandwiches and 2 sodas for close to $50. Didn't come with cheese on the sandwiches, nor chips/side.

LMAO... If they think I'm going to pay $18 for a Sandwich they must be out of their minds. Good luck with that. No Sandwich should cost $18.

I really wanted to like this place. Ruebens are one of my favorites! Unfortunately, the rueben sandwiches my group got were really inedible (except for the person who got the turkey rachel). The corned beef was rubber. The sandwich was $27 and it’s really just a normal sized sandwich. And no indoor seating. The knish was alright.

Let me start off by saying, I NEVER TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE A BAD REVIEW, so if I’m writing this my experience was pretty awful! This was our 2nd time eating at Joan’s, . We came shortly after they opened and ordered food for take out that was absolutely delicious. I went back today and unfortunately the quality of food has declined beyond belief. We knew there would not be sitting available inside so we figured we could go to Dresslers with our food since that was an option offered on their website. Unfortunately there was no one at Dresslers so we had to sit outside and today was pretty chilly and windy. We are a family of 4 and brought a friend who loves Pastrami and really wanted to have a taste of a good old fashioned NY deli. We ordered 3 sandwiches, 2 soups, 2 knishes and 2 sodas and spent over $90. The food was awful, nothing was fresh. If I was just dining with my family I would have absolutely have gone back in and asked for my money back but since we had a guest with us I didn’t want to be a Karen about it at the time. We are a hard working middle class family so to drop down that much $$$ on a lunch that was barely edible is really a hardship for us. The pastrami had a funky, Smokey flavor. Last time I went the women who sliced the meat asked how I liked it sliced, the person today did not ask and we had thick pieces of pastrami that almost had a consistency of cow tongue. The bread was not flavorful and almost tasted like it was also stale. The pickles were soggy and disgusting. The matzoh ball soup wasn’t too bad but I think any hot soup will taste good when you are dining outside in 40 degree weather with 20 mph winds. Last time we went there were 4 different types of knishes and we tried one of each. Today there was just potato and they didn’t taste good, not sure if it was bad seasoning or the fact that they tasted like they had been sitting there for a while. The display case did not look as pictures above in the Google image. Last time we went the display case did look like that. I think today they had a regular cheesecake and a chocolate cheesecake and some Rugelach which looked stale and some of them burnt. I understand we went the Saturday after Thanksgiving but if the establishment could not provide customers with fresh and delicious food this weekend they probably should have waited until next week to re-open. Everything looked and tasted like it had been sitting there for the past 4-5 days prior to Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I will not be returning to Joan’s Deli and Bakery. I work too hard for my money to waste it on a lunch like I did today. I went to Trader Joe’s after lunch and spent the same amount of money on groceries for a week.

Finally had the chance to stop in. Ordered pastrami on rye with Swiss and spicy mustard. My hopes were high and Joan's did not disappoint. Service was quick and the food was outstanding. Will be visiting again.

Don’t be scared of the price, this is not any ordinary sandwich. Best pastrami outside of New York or Los Angeles that I have had.

Food took a few minutes to prepare but tasted great. Pastrami had a little too much fat for me, but, of course, that lead to an amazing sandwich. The menu is a little pricey for a deli, and the location is a little hidden. Definitely worth a visit if you're at Metropolitan.

First review I’ve left in a while. Yeah it’s almost $20 for a sandwich but it has a good amount of meat. The quality on the Pastrami was top notch I even bought a second one for the road. I will be back for sure. If they offered a double meat for $35 I’d happily pay it ?.

Have ordered the plain cheesecake a couple times. Outstanding cheesecake with a dusting of cinnamon on top makes a nice touch too. Haven’t tried anything else but the great cheesecake is a wonderful start! YUM!!!
Wheelchair accessibility: Small area but accessible.

The chocolate cheesecake is incredible!
Authentic, delicious and friendly! A little hard to find if you don’t know where to look. Faces the greenway with a lovely bit of outdoor seating. Worth a visit.

Ordered from Dressler’s menu.Cheesecake definitely best, but apple crisp needs less cinnamon, couldn’t taste anything else but it.
