Best and most authentic Jamaican food in CLT.
My wife & I were in town for a show at the Bluementhol Theater and were craving some authentic Jamaican food, so we googled and went with the highest rating out of 7 Jamaican restaurants. My wife is Jamaican, so she knows what’s authentic! The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! We had oxtails, stewed chicken, plantains and beef patties. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They truly value their customers! We will definitely be back! Thanks for making our stomachs happy 😋😋. Keith & Marsea
One of the best Jamaican / Caribbean cuisine experiences I've had in Charlotte, NC - Hands Down! Highly recommend the Jerk Chicken and brown stew chicken were so good we had to spin the block for more!
One area of improvement for me would be the ability to call in and order since a lot of dishes are made to order. But trust me - it's worth the wait.
$20 for Oxtail
It was delicious!!!! Highly recommend. The beef patties let me tell you … best of my life !!! She made everything fresh and it took a while but just cause she wanted to make sure it was perfect. Worth every penny, it’s a must try !
Fresh. Hot. Fast. Them plantains.
This is truly the most authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in Charlotte. I ordered snapper, and while the wait was about 20-25, it was worth it. I prefer my food made to order, and seeing them chop the onions, tomato, thyme and peppers fresh was amazing. It’s not real if you don’t catch yourself before you bite the all spice!!
Rice was good and the couple running the establishment were very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Authentic and made fresh!!!!!!

Here visiting and was in the mood for oxtails. I found this restaurant after an online search for Jamaican food. It did NOT disappoint. I got oxtails, rice and beans, and cabbage. Everything was delish and I’ll definitely be back when I return to NC.

My mom and I were in Charlotte hanging out and really wanted some country food while we were there. Decided to try this spot and they did not disappoint. This is the BEST Jamaican food we’ve had in the South. The owners were super friendly and we did not have to wait long for our food. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Came but place was closed even tho it says open pn weekends. I dun drove 25 minutes on the highway for this? Make it make sense. When a business have certain hours their open that's the time they should be open. Rite aide aint going say they're opened at 9 and not be open. This is whack
K and J’s is the place to go if you want quality & authentic Jamaican food!
Me and my boyfriend were very pleased with our jerk chicken and curry goat plates.
It is a small establishment so don’t expect and thing fancy. BUT the food is absolutely delicious.

I had not been here in a year but it was the best I had ever tasted in Charlotte. So I go there on 6/7 order two oxtail dinners, curry goat dinner. These were the WORST I have ever had. The oxtail dinners were shredded meat (because it had been boiled to long) the rice and peas were scorched (you could smell it when you opened the container), the curry goat was instant high blood pressure and boiled to death. The oxtail gravy was water ( getting low on gravy throughout the day and simply continued adding water),the cabbage was bland and tasteless. I wanted everything in separate containers because I was buying lunch for my Jamaican employees that just arrived to the states two weeks ago. The RUDE lady told me that she couldn’t give me eight containers ( the ones that a slice of cake would come in) and I am going to spend almost a $100 dollars. So I said ok no problem can I just go to Family Dollar and buy some containers? Smart as she could with a no. Ok no problem. Black businesses need to do better. You want us to spend our money but you feel after you get a clientele base you can just give the customers anything and we should accept it. I have been a chef for 35 years (Jamaican food is not my specialty) and for the amount of money that I spent and the NASTY attitude towards me when I was nothing but nice and respectful you will never get a dime of my money ever. I was so embarrassed to give that to my employees and being from Jamaican they confirmed that it was HORRIBLE. I loved the food so much that my friend that works at a hotel asked me for the best oxtails and I recommended you guys and they posted it on their board for guests to see. I IMMEDIATELY called my friend and told her to take it down. If you want good Jamaican food I suggest you try Lawerence Caribean on the same street one minute away.
