Nice people and very good food. I have no idea what happened to our waitress. We saw her when she took our order, and then when she slapped our salads, soups and main courses on our table all at once. We ate and eyed our sushi (appetizer) sitting on the counter for about 15 minutes, and finally went up and grabbed it for ourselves. Why such awful service? Maybe she was also cooking… we really could not figure it out.

Food and customer service was great. Will be returning when back in the area.

This is probably the best show quality hibachi we have been to from all the ones we have been to in CA, AZ, HI, Aruba, UT; this one had the best performance. Our chef was fun and you must experience it for yourself.

This was a very disappointing visit. The prices are out of control $32.99 for NY Strip/Chicken combo. The proteins were over cooked and the veggies were undercooked. The cooks lack enthusiasm and just go thru the motions. My husbands salad was acceptable but mine was like a bowl of ginger dressing soup with some lettuce on top. Overall would not return. Suggestion: Serve quality food with less quantity of bad food. No one at our table denied a take home box.

We had called a week ahead to reserve a party room, which the person on the phone confirmed. When we got there, I checked in saying we had a reservation for the party room, she said okay. When all of our group arrived, she led us to our table, in the main dining room! When I questioned the manager about it, he didn't seem to understand why we were upset that someone had told us we had reservations for our own party room! We didn't have a choice but to go and sit at the table in the main room, which was very crowded and very noisy. We couldn't carry on conversations with each other! The server was pretty good and stayed on top of things well, and the cook and food was very good.

We have been dining at Kabuto for 25 years for birthdays, job promotions, and just for a good, fun dinner. Last year and then earlier this year we noticed tings were a little off, but thought maybe it was a temporary thing. We went again this week for a big birthday and it was worse than before.... the hibachi chef did not appear to be Asian and hardly spoke a word to us. No show, no jokes, no tossing the egg, only one little fire trick. This killed our hopes for a fun birthday event. Ok, so the entertainment wasn't good. How about the food? Well, the veggies were undercooked and still kind of hard. That has not happened before. The noodles are completely different, much smaller and no flavor. In fact, all of the food was less seasoned than all other times. The miso soup tasted like a bowl of salt water and didn't have any noticeable rice or veggies floating in it. The bowls for the yum-yum sauce are now the size of a silver dollar... used to be as big as your hand and they filled them up constantly. Not now. Gone are the elegant black cloth dinner napkins and instead, cheap paper napkins. The chicken and shrimp were still good, scallops were good, steak was just ok. The little salad was the same as before. Fried rice was average but had less vegies and onion in it. Prices were up about $3-$5 per entree. This is not unexpected thanks to the runaway inflation everywhere. Draft beer is now less than a pint and appears to be only 13 or 14 ounces for $6.70! That is ridiculous and offensive. I don't know if there is new management or if all of this is part of the new world we live in with shrinkflation and skimpflation. There are still other good choices for Asian food in the area so we are sadly saying goodbye to Kabuto.

Located in front of Costco Wholesale in Charlote city, NC the Kabuto Japanese steakhouse is a good option for lunch or dinner with authentic Japanese food! You have a choice to go inside on the tepan table or a la carte wit many options of plates!

I went their Saturday with family friends. While we were waiting to be seated. We saw a creature on the wall crawling which was a big roach. I told the person up front and she took off her shoes smashed it. It was on the wall. And she let stayed on the wall. Then after we turn my teenager son said she said low why are you here then. Not the response I was looking for. I didn't cause a seen. He didn't tell us until we left. I will not return here a gain.

Horrible service & the management team attitude was terrible. Please don't waste your hard earned money here!

Ordered a Hibachi lunch for pick up and was delicious Hibachi chicken, rice and veggies were cooked to expectation! I was greeted warmly and would recommend for take out lunch.

We ordered door dash at the office and it arrived without any shrimp sauce for the hibachi, which is literally the best part!! Then my soup had hair in it. Never again, especially not for the price they charge for gross food.

Had this been my first time eating here then it would have been my last. The food was good as always. The service this time sucked. There was no show. The chef just cooked our food and cleaned up. To go box's and the check were delivered before we had a chance to eat our meal. Terribly disappointing. Take out would have been just as good. Too expensive for poor service.

My husband and I went to kabutos today for dinner and we get back home to find we have missing food. I know people make mistakes but for an $80 meal there are no room for mistakes. We come from the Whitsett area and visit the establishment often. So was disappointed!

Decent decor, decent sushi. Staff was nice, but the sushi just didn't taste good, look fresh, and was actually pretty greasy. Probably best to look elsewhere
