WOW! What an amazing experience we had today at KenCooks. Great food, greeted by a wonderful hostess. Felt like home. Food was fresh, hot, didn't take forever. My favorite dishes were the Yams, and the fried salmon. The plates were plentiful and priced just right. The next time I'm in Charlotte. I will be there. Theres a lot of love and care going on in this kitchen. Thank you so much!

I was excited to try Ken Cooks from hearing about it from other posts and following her. It was my cheat day and I was ready to indulge. It was busy from taking orders to restocking. I could hear her from the Kitchen thanking folks for being patient. That made me chuckle cause we really wasn't waiting long to me. I enjoyed the chicken wings the most from flavor to crunch. Again this was my cheat day so the salt and sugar was more noticeable for me from the fish, greens and sweet potato pie. I'll try the cake next time. The corn bread didn't even make it home. The strawberry lemonade was so good but I needed to cut with water and once I added vodka it was perfect. Nonetheless it was tasty and supporting a black business was a win. Everybody in there was hustling. I've shared with friends and I'd go back for another cheat day. Till then - back to kale and grilled stuff...

The service was superb.Food was piping hott!!Atmosphere was welcoming, relaxing and comfortable.There were a variety of choices of drinks. Mango Tea, Strawberry Lemonade (it seemed to be the most popular), tea lemonade mixed, and I can not remember the next one.The portion size was pleasing!!Anyway it was great!!I have had all of the entrees, and they are unmatched!!

This food right here was some of the best I've ever eaten. The sweet potato pie was certainly THEE BEST I've ever had❤️ The personal touch of when the owner comes and speaks to everyone. I don't live in NC but if I was to ever visit again, I'll come back to Kencook's!!!

Horrible Dirty and Hood!! Good food if you don't mind filth outside. Not sure if it the attitude or parking lot. They're both nasty!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the baked chicken (separate meal bought for tomorrow). These 2 meals were phenomenal!! The fish was well seasoned and the overall 1 and half drive to get this food was worth it!! I will definitely visit them again. With that being said....the dark meat chicken was seasoned well but SUPER small pieces. I had them put the sides on the sides. On a positive note, all their entrees come with rice or mashed potatoes. Taste like your moms
