This place was amazing. I had the Tori Nikkei sandwich which is a beautiful crafted chicken sandwich and the sauce was good. Highly recommended

Unfortunately, my first experience here wasn’t great, but it taught me what to do next time.
I ordered the Sakura sandwich and it arrived completely soaked in sauce. Even after scraping and blotting it, it was still overpowering. I’m not sure why an extra container of sauce was included.
If you’re watching calories or prefer lighter flavors, I’d recommend asking for the sauce on the side or requesting it light.

We just had an absolutely delicious meal at La Lima and it completely blew us away. If you're looking for sandwiches packed with flavor, look no further.
We tried two of their specialties: the Chicharron and the Sakura, and both were fantastic. The Chicharoon was perfectly savory and rich, while the Sakura offered a beautiful, unique blend of tastes that we couldn't get enough of.
What truly elevates these sandwiches is the bread—it is simply amazing, fresh, and perfectly holds up to the generous, juicy fillings. Every bite was a delightful mix of textures and flavors. The only regret we have is filling up on the main course, because the desserts looked divine! We'll definitely be back to remedy that soon! Highly, highly recommend this spot.

Our family had a great dinner experience at Lima. The bowls were very flavorful and made made with very fresh ingredients, our kids ate everything. We have visited the spot twice and the quality including attention to detail is evident. I am glad we have such wonderful spot in Charlotte. A+++

Nice little spot, the food is amazing. Good customer service. A little expensive for a sandwich and a side of rice. My bill was $30 per one person.

I’ve been a Viva Chicken fan since the OG Elizabeth days, so watching the team spin up Yunta and now launch La Lima Sanguchería feels like a full-circle Charlotte win. La Lima is the new fast-casual Peruvian sandwich shop from the folks behind Viva Chicken and Yunta, it's a counter-service spot in South End built around Peru’s sanguchería tradition.
I haven’t wanted to visit Peru more than I did after my first bite of Viva’s old Wow Lomito (marinated steak, sautéed onions and tomatoes, rocoto mayo, salsa criolla) especially when it was swimming in that green, herb-punchy sauce I still dream about. RIP Wow Lomito, but good news... at La Lima, it basically lives on under a new name. I ordered The Tusan (marinated grilled steak, red onion, tomato, carretillero sauce, micro-cilantro), and it instantly transported me back to that first Viva bite. Its the same savory-acid balance and packed with the same irresistible steak.
La Lima’s sauce bar has a “verde” that, to my palate, is the same huacatay magic I fell for years ago... call it whatever you want... it’s the thing that makes you believe in Santa. The room is modern and casual, and while South End parking is chaos, the trip is worth it if you’re chasing a killer steak sandwich from a homegrown group that keeps leveling up. If you love Viva or Yunta, you’ll recognize the DNA here, only its focused on sandwiches that hit.

La Lima Sangucheria has quickly become my go-to lunch spot anytime I’m in the South End area. The space is nicely decorated and has a great vibe, especially when the weather’s nice outdoor seating is a solid option.
The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I can’t get enough of the cilantro rice it hits every time. My personal favorites are the Sensei and Chicharron Bowl, and the breadsticks with honey sauce are a must. Trust me on that one.
I always top things off with the passion fruit drink, which is refreshing and rounds out the meal perfectly. Solid service, flavorful food, and a chill atmosphere La Lima checks all the boxes.

We literally were standing in line and they dropped an entire stack of plates (cutting board with sandwich paper) on the floor, and they picked up both including the sandwich paper sheets and put them right back on the shelf to serve customers. If you are picking up things off the floor and serving people what are you doing behind the counter that people can’t see? Completely unsanitary and unexceptionable!!!

Incredible. The Tusan sandwich might be the best I’ve ever had.
10/10 sandwiches with a Peruvian flair. Almost always busy but the turnover for seats is pretty fast. Great local lunch spot and always have leftovers.
