Terrible experience. The first time we came to this restaurant it was perfect but during Valentine's Day it was the opposite. The service took forever to get to our table. The waiter Mikel was very friendly and attentive to other tables but cold to ours. He showed very little care for us and took a long time to ask what we even wanted to eat. The food came out 5 minutes after we ordered and was very clearly premade and sitting. Both Pastas were hard and not up to standard in terms of what we paid for it. Our Cocktails weren't cold either. It seemed like there was very clearly a difference in care with me and my husband when we are young people of color compared to everybody around us. Everything seemed rushed like we were trying to be pushed out the door and we will not be returning.

I went to Luce with a friend on a Saturday evening. I saw a good review about it and decided to check it out. When I first got there the host just asked for my first name and had me at a bar top table which I had not reserved, it was not until I asked to see my reservation on her end when she realized she had me down under someone else with the same first name as me because she never confirmed a last name. While we waited for our table we sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. My glass had a visible lipstick print on it which I did notify the bar tender and sent that back. I also noticed that other customers were getting their food faster then we were and we were there for about 2 hours. Also when it was time to get our tickets validated the host took my friends' and I ticket because we drove separately and scanned them. When we left and it was time to leave the parking deck my ticket went through but my friend's did not and she had to pay $20.

It was so peaceful here and the decor was nice and elegant. Love the different chandeliers. Drinks were good, regular. Came here for a little birthday dinner. Got the Lobster pasta.. this a very light lemony taste pasta. Delicious. The complimentary bean salsa was very different but good with the bread that was served with it. Caesar salad was good as well. It was like a sweet butter flavor.

It looked like our server was also working the bar which caused a slight delay ordering since we're going to a game. We weren't offered bread and when we asked for bread and also butter we were brought very average bread and a bowl of beans with olive oil but did not bring the butter. The food was good however when I asked for Italian sausage to add to my pasta I was told they didn't have any. The gluten free option was good as was most of the food. Only comment here was two of the dishes were a little light on the volume of sauce. The bill came very promptly which was a plus.

I had written a comment on my first visit to Luce and while the food was excellent, the service had issues. The food brought me back and this time the service was excellent. The servers were all attentive and extremely nice. A perfect meal from top to bottom.
The food was excellent and the ambiance was amazing. Our server was great, and everyone was very attentive throughout the night. It was our first time visiting, and we would definitely come back. It was the perfect spot for a date night, and the wine selection was outstanding. Highly recommend! -love from charleston
