Just picked up two racks of ribs, 12 wings and several sides from Mac's. I've eaten a decent amount of barbecue in my life, and this was the worst I've ever had. We threw one full rack of salty and very dry ribs in the trash.

Unfortunately not what it used to be. Ribs weren't great. THey were spree ribs and the waitress didn't know what a baby back ribs was. The sweat potatoes fries were over cooked. Beans were under cooked and over seasoned. Sucks bc this was my favorite spot for BBQ.

I lobe every aspect of Mac's!!! Food is always exceptional. I especially love their burnt ends. Proportions are large, drinks are good, and staff is extremely friendly.
Honestly one of the worst BBQ experiences I’ve had in North Carolina.
I spent about $40 here, and for what I got, the price is wild. Some items were okay, but overall this place is overpriced and not worth it.
🔹 Mac & Cheese:
Stiff. Dry. Blocky. Barely cheesy. It had no creaminess, no pull, no flavor just a hard block of noodles. Pointless side. Easily one of the worst mac & cheeses I’ve had at a BBQ spot.
🔹 Mashed Potatoes:
Thick, pasty, and bland. Not fluffy. Not creamy. No seasoning. Just a heavy scoop with no taste whatsoever.
🔹 Chicken:
The chicken was decent. Not amazing, not terrible just regular chicken. But for the price they charge, it should’ve been much better. Definitely not worth the cost.
🔹 Burnt Ends:
Not good AT ALL. Chewy, tough, and honestly tasted overcooked. The sauce wasn’t enough to save the texture. These were the biggest disappointment on the plate.
🔹 Bread:
Just a plain slice thrown in the box. No effort.
🔥 Final Verdict:
Overall, this meal was not worth the money. If you want REAL NC BBQ, go to The Smoke Pit better quality, better prices, better flavor, better everything. Tell them JJ sent you.
The mac & cheese and burnt ends were the breaking point for me. The chicken was decent, but decent chicken doesn’t carry a whole disappointing meal.

Not the Macs I'm used to. I only had the cup of dumpling whatever and it was HORRIBLE! If there were dumplings in there, I have a problem. SAW NO DUMPLINGS and TASTED NO DUMPLINGS. I could feel the powdery substance. It didn't have time to thoroughly cook. I will still recommend Macs and go back myself ! We Love noda!
