Refreshing Lunch Spot with Great Food and Service

On a random Tuesday while out adulting, I decided to stop by Maiz Agua Sal for a late lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is refreshing and modern, with the tree at the entrance being a standout design feature—it sets a great tone for the dining experience. We were seated immediately, and the service throughout was superb. Our waitress was delightful and very knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience even better.

The complimentary chips and salsa were a hit, and the peanut salsa was a pleasant surprise. Trust me, don’t knock it until you try it! The guacamole was incredibly fresh, and the tacos were delicious. Their 3 for $10 taco special is a great deal, and each one was packed with flavor. I also tried the Huarache De Tinga, which was absolutely delicious.

I almost forgot to mention the churros—a perfect way to end the meal! They were a sweet, satisfying treat that tied the whole experience together.

Although I was only there for lunch, I’m already planning to return to enjoy their drinks and check out the cool fire pit outside. Maiz Agua Sal is a fantastic spot for great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend!

Took my hubby to Maiz Agua Sal for his birthday & wow! What a treat 👍🏻 the mole sauce was exceptional & just like I remember from Mexico 🤩 my tamale was scrumptious & the masa was so tender, just wonderful. We shared the conchita ahogada for dessert….oh so good. The perfect ending to a perfect celebration. Our server, Ana, was attentive & the best server! If you get a chance, please try it, you will not be disappointed-

Today was my first visit, and I can’t wait to come back. Our server was fantastic, and the food was delicious. You can tell that a lot of work goes into their food, and the pricing is super fair for the quality.

We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes! Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The salsas and pickled vegetables are a real treat. Prepare yourself, no queso - but the salsas and guac are plenty to talk about. Beautiful bar as well with an exciting mimosa flight.

We got the Huevos Racheros and Chilaquiles verde - my favorite was the chilaquiles.

The corn press is imported from Mexico City and the recipes are from the Sous chef’s grandfather - what a treat to have in Charlotte!

Fresh and tasty! Cool concept and love the house made tortillas. One of the best horchatas I’ve ever had. I like the space as well - indoors and out. Cocktails are great.

Ok, this is a gem in Charlotte. The chips are like no other, they are homemade and nothing like run of the mill Mexican restaurant chips. The tinga and tortillas were incredible, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The Paloma was beautifully crafted with lots of fresh flavor. The decor is modern and beautiful. I really hope they open a location in south Charlotte !

The tacos are absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and just perfect. I was also pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was. I paid for food for four people, a cocktail, and three mimosas, and the total came to under $100. Great food, great value.

Best elevated Mexican restaurant in Charlotte! The menu is authentic. I ordered the Enmoladas de Res and my friend got the Huarache, both were delicious. I haven’t seen mole in a lot of menus in Charlotte and this one is the best I’ve had. Will definitely be back!
