Decent burritos and tacos for Charlotte. Can be better. I miss California burritos from San Diego, so I was happy to see that Mal Pan has one. I didn’t like that they put inside tomatoes, some white cheese. Would prefer more meat and fries with some cheesy sauce but overall it was good and my craving for California burrito was fulfilled. I wish the meat was softer for it. The shrimp burrito was blunt, and there was mostly rice and beans. I personally don’t like when burrito is full of rice and beans. Tacos was good especially the one with plantain but I think it’s too expensive for Charlotte. Probably it’s a fair price I’m just comparing it with good expensive places in San Diego.

Great little taco shop in Piedmont Row near South Park. The chips and salsa were tasty and fresh. The Camaron Royal taco was really good. In-house made tortilla. Great cocktails properly prepared and garnished. Would definitely return again. Service was a little off at the bar but not bad.

Presentation of meal, the taste and service a 10. Zero non-alcoholic beers which was a big bummer. That should be an no brainer these days. Outside blue chairs uncomfortable bc of the metal bar in the seat - at least for my small butt self. Would recommend overall. Plus dogs allowed outside! :-)

Great service from greeting us and the wait staff attended to all our needs !! All 14 of us . Very nice atmosphere ! Everyone loved their food !Vegetarian options: Not totally sure if Vegan but plenty of vegetarian dishes and believe me you get toms of veggies in the Mal Bowl !Kid-friendliness: We had a party of 14 / 3 children the 7 yr old had a fun time and enjoyed her tacos !the other 2are babies so no complaints as they enjoyed just taking in all the decor and people watching!

Its honestly dark and small and the tables are so close to each other its mad uncomfortable and our food came out luke warm and cold and the food had no seasoning or flavor at all the appetizer was better than the entrees which was disappointing our server was good but honestly wont be trying this place

First time here and my husband & I where so happy with the service and food!!!We took our puppy with us and they where so polite. As soon as we got there our server brought out some water for our pup. We got the steak tacos and the surf and turf burrito. Absolutely delicious food and we will definitely be coming back for more!!! 10/10 recommend!

Their chips and salsas also good but not complimentary and they give you a small portion of salsa but a lot of chips. This isn’t a typical taqueria so don’t plan on getting a lot of food at a cheap price. Yes this is mexican food but Remember this is a S. Park business. Our waitress, KAYLA was a little bit short and inpatient however. She rushed us to order and I was shocked to see she had added a large gratuity tip to my check for a party of 3. I didn't notice it initially and I then tipped an additional 15%. So completely my fault for missing it but no way the waitress thought she deserved a 35% tip. Common sense would say this is an error or an indication to confirm we weren't aware of the large pity tip she conveniently decided to add without telling me. Thankfully since I made a reservation through open door I was able to call the next business day and speak to Andre who looked up my check by the reservation, apologized and reversed the gratuity charges.They have outdoor seating and plenty of parking in the adjacent deck.
