This was our first dining experience at Mariposa and it was outstanding. Colleen, our server was exceptional in all aspects of her job. The food was superb. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
Asia was our server, absolutely incredible service! Love her and would come back just for her truly!

My boyfriend and I came here for Queens Feast as a celebration for a new job. Asia was our server and she made the experience fantastic! Great explanations of the menu and recommendations that did not disappoint. She noticed we were drinking alcohol, so offered fun NA drinks and coffees as a way to “cheers “ the occasion . Definitely will be back!

My hubby & I sat at the bar which was delightful. Wonderful meal, great cocktails, & dessert!
Great museum!
My wife and I came to Mariposa during Restaurant Week Jan. 2026 and enjoyed it, but not enough that we’ll return any time soon.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and well-decorated, and we enjoyed sitting on comfortable sofas for dinner.
Our waitress, Greer (sp?), was very good.
My Chasu Pork Belly for the opening course was a delicious & unusual combination of flavors, and my wife enjoyed her Tuna Poke Tacos. We both chose the Steak au Poivre for the main course, and this was the most disappointing part of the meal. The 6oz sirloin was perfectly cooked at medium rare, but at least 1/3 of my sirloin was inedible gristle. I brought this to Greer’s attention, and she got the manager. She apologized and said that they would discount my meal….but more on that later.
My wife’s Crème Brûlée was good, but not excellent. Same for my Chocolate Tres Leches. Good, but nothing special. Not worth the 30 minute drive from south Charlotte.
So we reached the end of the meal and got the check, only to learn that my meal was NOT, in fact, discounted. What they did, was remove the automatic 20% gratuity they normally add. I’m sorry - WHAT?! Yes, there was the opportunity for me to add a gratuity, which of course I did, because Greer didn’t deserve to be penalized for something out of her control, but that is NOT the same as a discount.
To be fair, it’s Restaurant Week, and the meal was already steeply discounted - $55 for a 3-course meal at such a nice restaurant is ridiculously low. Heck, if they had taken just $5 off, I’d have been fine with the gesture. But to just take off the automatic gratuity, such that I had to chose between Greer getting a tip for her work or nothing, is not a “discount.”
Maybe if our meal had been at full fee, they’d have done more, but if I’d paid $40 (their usual price), I’d have been way more upset with 1/3 of the steak being inedible.
Very misleading and disappointing/dishonest move by management.

We love this restaurant. Have been many times and never been disappointed. The staff is great-- ask for Carlos-- fun, professional, knowledgeable and has the attention to all details need for a wonderful evening . The food stands on its own-- tasty, great presentation, good spice combos. It was the same last night before the symphony-- the best!!
This restaurant is beautiful and Asia made our brunch so special! Her kind service and amazing recommendations completely enhanced my family and I’s experience! Would definitely recommend Asia and her team to anyone looking for a delicious meal!!!

Mariposa was smaller than I expected when we got inside. It is very nice and tastefully decorated. Staff is friendly and attentive (we had Nathaniel for our server and he was excellent.) The food came out quickly and was flavorful. You cannot go wrong if you order the arancini or corn fritters as appetizers. If you're looking for a true tapas style restaurant/experience, you may be a little disappointed. However if flavor and service drives your choices Mariposa is a safe bet.
