Felt like I was back in Japan! Tried the Cucumber Tsukemono (cucumber salad) which was super flavorful, had nice heat (little kick to it in terms of spiciness) but refreshing and crisp! Tried the Shoyu with Chicken Broth and the Tonkotsu Kuro. The Shoyu chicken broth was light, flavorful with bamboo shoots, homemade noodles and an egg that was prepared just right and gave the ramen that wonderful richness! Arigato gozaimasu Menya! Definitely recommend!!!

A special highlight was the excellent vegetarian option. All the chain ramen places in town fall far short.

I’m not sure who reviewed this place under 5 Stars but I would not pay those any attention. The food here is so 🔥. Best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan and it’s very consistent as well. I love sitting at the bar and the dining experience here. One of the best restaurants in Charlotte IMO

I have only 2 issues. The cups and chopsticks on the table and using the same unwashed water pitcher between guests is unsanitary. You can't make slight modifications such as a hard boiled egg vs soft. Other than that I love the food here. But good luck on parking

Skip the others- Menya has the best ramen in Charlotte hands down. The service is always quick and friendly, and the food is always consistently great. I have been here between 10-15 times since they opened, and can only say good things. Not the case for many a restaurant in the Charlotte area.

They wouldn’t even let me use the restroom until I ordered.. A younger person literally ran and stopped me and followed me around until I placed my order. I was “allowed” to use the restroom afterwards. I will not be returning.
This ramen is SO GOOD and is comparable to Japan. All of the appetizers are great and the food is served hot and fresh. Always a 10/10 experience eating here!

Food was solid. I got the Black Ramen and it hit the spot on a rainy day. I received free Spicy Chicken Potstickers that were really good. That was a nice perk. I had a Orion beer that was delicious. All the staff was kind but too much coughing and sneezing. Its winter so I understand but since everything was exposed it was unappetizing. Atmosphere is very cafeteria vibes. Not a dare spot unless its a low-rent, youve-been-dating-for-a-while, we-just-want-soup vibes.

Modernized American ramen spot. But you can sit at the counter and order through QR. We ordered the cucumber tsukemono and Tori katsu Sando as appetizer. The cucumber had a good pickling and a good soy vinaigrette sauce. Light and refreshing. The sando was fried perfectly and had good flavor; not too heavy. My fiancé ordered the spicy tantan; he said it was definitely spicy but tolerable. He doesn’t eat a lot of spicy food; I do, I thought it was a good amount of spice (not enough for me). I ordered the tonkatsu kuro with pork and enjoyed the whole bowl. Will definitely be coming back.
