Walk in it’s hot. Server working too many tables to tend to anybody properly. Food was absolutely trash!!!! Greens big and crunchy, chicken tenders soggy and mushy( can’t even eat it) let alone feed to my one year old with me. Yams look old dry and black and disappointed and most of all disgusting!!! Beef ribs tough and undercooked. Can’t even get to the meat. Cornbread and tea was the best thing here. Mac and cheese was edible . Will not be back. Paid to park and go eat is a waste. Not to mention we came over an hour and traffic to get to this establishment

Catfish and cornbread was tasty and piping hot. Server Brittany seemed uninterested and very rushed. Red beans, rice, cabbage, and beef ribs just okay.

Great food and loved the diner type atmosphere. Perfect comfort food to soothe the frustrations of day.

My wife and I drove up from Columbia because we saw the restaurant on tiktok. It was ok.

The beef ribs were very good. & I Hate beef ribs. Sweet potatoes were Little over cooked. My wife loved the cabbage.

The Mac & cheese was ok. The chicken was pretty good. We did come about 30 or 45 minutes from closing maybe that was the reason.

I thought it was extremely kind and hospitable of them to let us in and welcome us even though we showed up late, only 30 min before their closing time. We were taken care of by someone named Deandre, and another person named Zohran also helped where he could. Lovely atmosphere, great food. Love the interior. Definitely hoping to go back.

We were told about this place by our city tour guide. It was amazing. The mashed potatoes we one if the best I have had. The fried green tomatoes were very good. We had a combo plate and the chicken was juicy, the ribs sauce was amazing and the green beans are like hiw my mom used to make them, cooked with bacon. The atmosphere gave a feeling of a jazz club that messed with a greasy spoon. I highly recommend Merts as a place to stop and check out when in Uptown Charlotte!!!

Mert's food was great. My favorite is the Soul Roll. I honestly could just eat that everyday. I wish the restaurant continued great success.

Okay. We did the tour of Charlotte on the golf cart and thos was one of the plces that was recommended. We were not dissappointed. The food is very good, we had the fried chicken, beef short ribs, mac and cheese, greens, yams, okra and tomatoes, and cornbread. All cooked to perfection!! The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very inviting.

Food was good. However the collards were cooked different than most Black owned Soul food restaurants. They had pimento in them
