I read the reviews for this location and was a little weary. Upon arrival l was greeted and they were very friendly. The store is very clean and the food was delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.

If I were to make one critique it would be the garlic sauce. I’ve always enjoyed a more traditional garlic and this one is very runny and didn’t have that bite.

This location never disappoints. Food is always spectacular. The service is always great the workers are amazing and friendly each time. Atmosphere is calm and chill could get work done and have great food at the same time!!

The worst service ever, hands down.
Staff is unwelcomeing and make you feel like taking ur order is a burden.
Food is average/ mid
Price is similar to cava
Would not recommend at all lol

The Mezeh store on University city has great service, a clean atmosphere, and quickly serves your food. Went during lunchtime for work and it was a solid spot to stop. Thank you to Mariela Carolina and all of the lovely folks on the team!

I placed an order online when I arrived 25 minutes later my order was no where to be seen. It took about 2 minutes before I was helped. My order ticket wasn’t even printed out and they had no clue they even had an order from online. No apology, my food was half ass made. I use to love this place something has changed because the food does not taste the same.

I come to mezeh often but just moved to the university side of town and couldn't wait to try the one near by. I planned a cute date and got the food but couldn't enjoy the date because there were no forks in my bag. Went home to enjoy the food only to find a hair in my bowl. Called.. no help.. stopped by the restaurant and it was just workers no management or leadership. Got a worker to call CHASE the manager Who couldn't care any less about me having hair in my food. Awful service even more awful policies.

Didn’t know there was a store front. Please hire some people who can at least speak when you enter. The lady with locs had a very stank attitude and all we did was walk in and ask a question. We waited politely for her to finish the to go orders despite her partner wanting to take over so she can assist us. He was given attitude and pushed away before she looked at us asking how she can help us. Like we were disturbing her.
Then you ask for a bag there isn’t none and she thinks that is so funny. She was unhelpful and dreadful.

I used to love this location until today. When I walked in I couldn’t even get a greeting, yet a smile at least lol. The 2 ladies on the line were kind of rude. They also don’t change gloves when working the register. I miss when Steven was in charge of this location, everything was perfect. Idk what happened!!!! I will not be back.

Previous review: Steven, Ethan and Skyler never forget my face when I come. The service is always immaculate, the other mezeh’s in Charlotte have NOTHING on this one. The entire crew is incredible!!!🥰 1000000/10

Dropped the stars to 1. We stopped by today 4/13/25 because we had a great experience the first time. Today we were disappointed and disgusted. We waited a several minutes to place our order. It was kinda busy. The staff was not friendly or welcoming.

Two were working the line while the manager, I assume, was on the computer or something. She never came up to help them out until there was a looong line. One girl, didn't get her name, wore gloves but she had to help a staff member at the register. As she walked over there she wiped her nose on the glove she wore. She touched the register with the gloves on. She came back to the front of the line and took people's orders. She grabbed falafel balls with the same gloves that she touched her nose and the register. Not once did she change her gloves. Who knows what else she touched before changing them.

I used to work in a restaurant like this and if we touched the register, went into the back or touched cash or our faces, we had to change our gloves and put new ones on.

Previously 5 stars were given! We were in Charlotte doing sightseeing. We were close by to Ikea and I had my daughter research restaurants for lunch. She found Mezeh Mediterranean Grill. First time here! Esmerelda and Steven took great care of us!!! My daughter and I did made build your own junior bowls. The food was delicious! I loved the garlic lemon hummus and the spicy hummus. The shawarma chicken was fabulous! The food on the line was fresh! We also enjoyed the drinks. I wish there was a Mezeh in Winston-Salem! I would eat there and work there! Thanks for a great, delicious lunch!!

I visited Mezeh this morning to get my usual Chicken Chicken bowl, something I genuinely look forward to. However, today’s experience was beyond disappointing—it was offensive and deeply upsetting. A woman with glasses, who I later learned is named Esmeralda, was shockingly rude and aggressive toward me for no reason. When I asked a simple question about my order, she immediately responded in a loud, hostile tone that felt completely unnecessary. What made it even worse was that I overheard her refer to me as a “brown person” in Spanish to a coworker working the grill. She clearly assumed I wouldn’t understand because I’m African American—but I did. That comment was not only inappropriate but flat-out discriminatory. Her entire demeanor was unprofessional and made me feel disrespected, uncomfortable, and completely unwelcome. I’ve never experienced anything like this at Mezeh before, but after today, I will not be coming back. I sincerely hope management addresses this, because no customer should ever be treated this way.

Tried calling the store and couldn’t get a hold of anyone, however I placed an order on DoorDash today 4/8/25. When I received my order, the 2 bowls that I received that were supposed to be made exactly the same were missing many ingredients. As a Cava lover, I decided to step out the box and give Mezeh a try for the first time and this experience was a major disappointment. If you like Cava, just stick to what you know. What a waste of $35. Never again!
