I want to give it 3 stars but being a BBQ spot and being so bad at brisket and burnt ends just doesnât do it. My brisket was rubbery and half of each of the cuts were literally just full on fat pockets, not fatty meat, just fat. The burnt ends were EXTREMELY dry.
Iâve always thought Midwood smokehouse was adequate but average at best. The pulled pork and chicken are both solid but youâll get that at any bbq place. Most of their menu is average to above average, which is fine, but if you arenât going to get great BBQ here. Theyâre saved by the fact that thereâs really not many good BBQ options in the Charlotte City limits.
Midwood Smokehouse burnt ends with sides is delicious. I love the baked beans and cucumber salad. The hush puppies are the perfect size. The mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but could be a preference thing.
