My first time there 1 out of 10 5.5 because am not a person that likes bbq sauce on meat period. I cook any type of meat bbq or what ever. So it was alright.

I went with a group here. The server was so nice. I took out some beef brisket and it was great, tender. I had some issue with the barbeque chicken I ordered. It did not have enough sauce and therefore was not the right color. They gave us to start an enormous platter of pimento cheese with fries which we appreciated! They have a scratch kitchen and I had the best pecan pie I ever ate!! So many pecans. I would recommend the brisket or ribs. Will be back to try the ribs!

The sanitation rating wasn’t easy today find as we entered and the server kept getting the wrong drink getting water then Diet Coke with ice when the actual drink request was Diet Coke without ice. Other than that she was very nice and food came out quickly. I only had the fries but from my family the brisket was very good

Updated 2025:
B+: Since my original post we have gone back on 2 separate occasions because of convenience. Both times the food was super delish..Service has also increased so I've Updated my rating based on the post-covid era. If you're looking for some awesome BBQ and a few stiff drinks come try Midwood Smokehouse.

D- : The service was wonderful. The manager the staff and our server checked on us multiple times. The food I was really wishing for more. At a price tag if $85 with a $15 tip I did expect better tasting food. The wings hubby ordered appeared to be quail wings they were so tiny. The fries were good. The nachos were good we had that with the brisket and no bbq sauce on it. With four of us eating there were plenty of leftovers on that. Lil #1 ordered chicken tenders and macaroni it was burnt bit we weren't told until after they were eaten ( we had a very busy day only cereal had been eaten prior to this meal) Lil#2 ordered the slider and fries from the kids menu it was dry and very little cheese. The ribs were delightful after I scraped the overwhelming amount of sauce off. The cucumber salad was good but a tad bit too sweet for my preference. During the pandemic I am grateful that this chain restaurant is open but at the price point and quality I'd rather them be closed. The macaroni was aweful unseasoned and pasta was overcooked leaving mush on my pallette. The banana pudding is one of the lighter ones that I've experienced even lighter than my own. The server gave me a hint of the recipe and I will be trying that the next time I make my own. The wafers were placed on top so they were crispy still though this is not my preference. The actual negligible banana bits were small. When you're there ladies make sure to excuse yourself to the restroom for the colorful pictures. This place should be rated as a bar not a restaurant. The food was not that great.

Didn't even eat that much of the ribs thankfully. They were so bad. That sauce has sat on my stomach all night. The wings were good. I just don't understand how eating so little of the ribs and sauce can still sit on my stomach 5 hours later. Just awful. I'm just being truthful. Everybody that worked there was so good and professional and the atmosphere is great. It's been a long time since since I've had something sit on my stomach like that sauce and fatty nasty ribs. And the only reason I'm saying that is because it is still haunting me 6 hours later when I hardly ate any of it. Just being truthful.

We are regulars and we love this location, not giving a 5 starts because of the head of service Liss, the middle age woman with glasses, is always very rude and never has been welcoming , also it makes it very uncomfortable the way she treats and talk to the other hostess when they are being super friendly and welcoming . Food is really good, service is awesome, hostess are great, especially Clouy very friendly and welcoming.

Quality has plummeted recently. Portion sizes have become unreasonably small. Paid $5 for a side that was literally 2 bites. Paid $15 for a custom salad that only filled 1/4 of container. Used to be one of our favorite BBQ spots, but no longer even close to being worth the price. Go to Improper Pig or Blue Smoke instead

My husband and I are celebrating 30yrs of marriage and decided to come to Charlotte and eat at some great restaurants. My husband wanted Bbq so we tried Midwood. Seated quickly, waited a little longer than we should for the waiter. He however was polite and knowledgeable. Gave great service.
The food came and was plated well and appealing. Put my for into the broccoli casserole (COLD) Bbq Baked beans (lukewarm) chicken (COLD). Can’t stand to eat food that should be hot, cold or lukewarm.
Taking the food back to the hotel to heat cooked food. This is a dealbreaker for me! Goodbye Midwood!

Food was horrible. I actually got sick after leaving. I was given a refund but I don't think I'll go back. I had ribs with fries. The food was not hot but the waitress was nice.

I've been to Midwood a few times now, the food is really just okay.
The best thing there is the Burnt Ends Geits on the weekend.

The atmosphere is great, I like how they have the place arranged. Would be a decent spot to eat & watch some sports.

I prefer Tickle My Ribs in Monroe than here.

So far the best BBQ in the Charlotte area is John G's.

I got the burnt ends and you could tell the beef had been cooked another day. Beef gets a taste to it once its cooked and placed in a refrigerator. Brisket chili was good, but the rest of the food was Luke warm.
