Midwood Smokehouse

This was my first visit to the Raleigh location on May 28, 2025 with two out of town guests. three diff dishes were ordered..brisket, St. Louis rubbed ribs and burnt ends. The brisket and burnt ends were amazing. The ribs however were dry and tough. The meat certainly did not fall off the bone. I would not recommend the ribs based on this experience.

This place is trash. Don’t go. Stood in line for a while to get in, hostess finally seated us without smiling or saying a single word to us, dropped the menus and just walked away. It was hot as hell inside the restaurant. There are QR codes where you place your own order…but every time I tried to check out it just gave a “Sorry! Ask your server for help” message. We waited for legit almost 15 minutes, never even got water, the server lady looked at us one single time and just said “I’ll be with you soon” and then after waiting for 5 more minutes without getting any service we finally just got up and left. They seemed busy but also well-staffed. There was just tons of staff standing around seeming to be taking the “that’s not my job to do XYZ” route. This place isn’t even MID…it’s god awful. Sorry for leaving this Karen review but when service is that bad, you gotta let others know to steer clear.

My server was nice, but I will never be eating here again. Overpriced is an under statement. I wanted to sit somewhere and have a meal but I would have gotten a better quality dinner at Burger King for about $50 less. They got me with the hidden drink price. It was more than my meal and tasted like the bartender only made drinks at frat parties before today.

I just saw a non-handicap worker leave the handicap stall without washing his hands. Wouldn’t recommend unless you want to eat poo.

Stopped to get some dinner between flights. Got the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. Baked beans came out cold. The attendant gave me a replacement cup of beans that was steaming hot. Definitely a better taste when hot.

I have eaten here twice, food has been tasty, prices are decent for an airport and the staff worked hard to get us in and out. I would eat here again if the time allowed.

That was a great last minute surprise. Combo with cheddarwurst, slaw, puppies and baked beans were all fantastic. Thank you. Looking fwd to next time.

Hostess was nowhere to be found but server got us seated quickly. Food was pretty solid for the prices. The Carolina BBQ sandwiches were okay. Bit dry but the sauce helped. But the prices of the drinks weren't on the menus and we should have definitely asked. $23 for a basic bourbon cocktail and $11 for a tap beer. Wildly inflated prices for alcohol there. That's where they get you I suppose. Please make that publicly displayed on your menus. But I suppose no one would order if they knew...

I get it’s in an airport. But that chicken sandwich was trash. My 10yo niece could make better food lol

I ordered the Bbq pork sandwich comes with coleslaw and I ordered side of fries. BBQ pork was cold with 1/2 teaspoon of coleslaw on sandwich. Fries were also cold. I did not like the vinegar base asked for sweet BBQ the one they offered was vinegar base as well. My husband ordered exact meal with same results. He also ordered side of burnt ends which were cold, very fatty and mushy. I really tried to eat it as I spent the money but I just didn't like the taste. They ran out of straws and service was slow. Waitress was nice but not enough for me to come back. The food was so terrible I was compelled to write my first review ever. I would not recommend. Sorry I didn't take a photo of food when I received it.

Okay, the place was really busy. But they seated us rather quickly, the service was excelent, and Christy our waitress was made us feel special even in that crowded atmosphere!
And plus, the food is very good!

For airport food, great experience. There wasn’t an open seat. Once I did get seated I immediately had a server getting my drink order. He was also quick to get my food order. That also came out fast. Got pulled pork and fries. Was extremely surprised with how good the barbecue sauce was.

Got the fried chicken sandwich. It was fair. Lots of butter on the bun, little taste in the chicken. Quick service though.
