We visited MOA in Columbia several months ago, and our experience was extraordinary. Everything about that experience was top notch. I was excited that there was a location in Charlotte. Our experience in Charlotte was the complete opposite of the first experience. The service was terrible, and the food was average at best. And given that our bill was around $400 (with tip - no alcohol), this was a substandard experience.

Some in our party were a little too loud !! Everything at the restaurant was amazing. Our server was great. I cannot remember his name, but we connected around Vietnamese culture - if that helps.

Visited Moa for my son's 25th Birthday and it's a lovely experience. From check in until the very end 10 out of 10. Will definitely return.

Disappointed by MOA Korean BBQ – A Missed Opportunity for a Special Occasion I recently dined at MOA Korean BBQ in Charlotte, hoping to recreate the impressive experience I had on a previous visit. Unfortunately, this time around it fell short—especially considering I chose it to celebrate a friend's birthday. Service: From the start, service was noticeably slower than expected. It wasn't outrageously bad, but enough to make us feel like we weren't really being prioritized. Seating Frustration: When our table felt cramped for the amount of food we ordered, we politely asked to be moved to a larger one. Our server initially agreed, only to return saying the manager declined the request. That was frustrating enough—but what truly soured the moment was seeing two guests seated at the larger table 15 minutes later, the very one we requested. We had more food, more people, and yet were denied. It felt dismissive and unfair. Comfort and Service Gaps: Whereas our last visit included attentive service with help grilling and cutting the meats, this time we were left completely on our own. It was disappointing, especially since that hands-on service was part of what made MOA memorable before. On top of that, the section we were seated in was uncomfortably hot. We were sweating throughout the meal, which only added to the discomfort. Food Quality: Sadly, the food didn't redeem the evening. The tomahawk was chewy and tough—far from the quality we expected, especially given MOA's reputation and pricing. Overall Experience: As someone who previously recommended MOA, I was expecting to be wowed again. Instead, I left underwhelmed and a little embarrassed that I chose it for a special occasion. I hope this was just an off night, but based on this experience, I'd be hesitant to return or recommend it again.

Chi our server was amazing! She gave a great explanation of menu items for novice Japanese diners.

Great place. My significant other's favorite place. Great food and ambiance. Not complaining, just funny. The server mixed up our food and took the rice I was eating in front of me. Complimentary dessert and card to celebrate our one year. Thank you for a great anniversary!

We celebrated my birthday at MOA and they went above and beyond. Our table was already set before our arrival, with a happy birthday card on full display. And then when we ordered dessert, the yuzu cake, our server put a sparkler on it!

Yay!! blew us away—everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Chi was the best server ever—so kind, attentive, and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

The pricing shocked me and my group, but who was able to pull it off and it was pretty decent afterwards judging that it was a combo for only six people but overall it was a wonderful experience and I would like to come back eventually

A great place to go with a group. With a group you are able to have a broader range of meats to share.

Food was incredible and the staff was fantastic! They do validate parking, which is great if you're going to Charlotte. Parking can get pricey.

This was our first time trying Korean BBQ. We enjoyed the experience. The beef choices we made were delicious and my husband enjoyed the chicken. It is Korean so he tried sides with kimchi; my palate doesn't like anything spicy so I didn't taste those but he said they were good. The cheese corn was interesting...turned out to be pretty good, very cheesy. The restaurant itself looks pretty cool. We dined here for our anniversary but this would be a fun place to visit with a large group.
