Went to Moon Thai & Japanese with friends yesterday (Tuesday) and ordered Pad See Ew. I noticed the improvement right away — the noodles were soft, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed it this time. Compliments to the chef!

Our party of 4 ordered different plates. Only the sushi was good, unfortunately the pineapple rice and the Moon Thai fried rice were tasteless, very plain. The server forgot to order one of the entrees, when we reminded her she was totally clueless. They didn’t offer any attention and charged us for the tea we had meanwhile we were waiting for the last dinner to arrive.

Decided to come here for Mother’s Day because My wife wanted to try this place out. We booked a reservation in advance and came here thinking this place is really nice and going to be a good place. We were wrong. I will start off everyone. It was extremely nice and our waiter was really, really helpful. He was not the problem.
We get there we’re seated. We place our appetizer orders first things first 20 minutes to get a Diet Coke is unacceptable. 45 minutes to start getting your main course Meals. Unacceptable. My mother ordered steak and chicken. It was well over an hour and she was the last person to get her food. They bring out what Look Like week old chicken. Cold still steak that her food looked like it had been sitting for a week. She tried it and almost immediately got sick and lost her appetite completely so her time was ruined there.
The server tried to make it better offering something else which she said I’ll just get it to go well it took us another 40 minutes to be checked out. Get the to go fried rices and get out of there.
Ended up paying around $360. That includes $60 tip. It took us too long to get our food and they should’ve prioritized communication in that restaurant because no one there is on the same page. And we ended up taking food to go which it got thrown out and I’ll get into the next part of this review.
On the drive home both my mother and my three-year-old toddler starts vomiting in the car. I end up having to stop on the drive taking a toddler out that just puked all the food up on herself because she got food poisoning from something. She ate there and then my mother got sick and the only thing that they shared was an appetizer at the beginning the fried wonton with cream cheese . I didn’t Get sick, but my child got sick puked up all the food from there on the car ride so I ended up having to deal with her and then my mom getting sick as well from the food that she ate there so Mother’s Day for my mom was ruined.
Like I said, in the beginning, this waiter was really nice and did everything he could but the experience we had here will definitely be Unforgettable.
I do not recommend this place for food. Two people from my group got sick from eating there. Your wait times are gonna be extremely long and by the time you do get your food, it will be cold and We will not have you feeling that it is old and not prepared on the spot.
Your experience may be different than But I ended up with a sick child and a sick mother on Mother’s Day and had to clean out my car and car seat.

The food at Moon Thai is genuinely good — four stars for that alone. The massaman curry with chicken was hearty and full of flavor, and it came with sticky rice, which was a nice touch. The hot and sour soup was also delicious with great depth of flavor. No complaints on the food whatsoever. The experience, however, left a bit to be desired. We made the rookie mistake of ordering our appetizers and entrées at the same time, but the kitchen ran with it — my soup came out in two minutes, the salad a minute after that, and then our entrées arrived two minutes later. We had everything on the table at once before we could blink. To top it off, our server brought out the wrong salad and had to swap it mid-meal. Then came the check — with an 18% large party gratuity added automatically. For a table of two. I let it go, but it was a head-scratcher. As was being seated sandwiched between two other parties when the back of the restaurant was completely empty. Again, the food is solid and worth trying, especially the massaman curry. But between the pacing, the mix-ups, and the auto-gratuity situation, I’m not rushing back anytime

It was my first time here and it won’t be my last. My experience was amazing from the beginning until the end. The new sushi chef Dani did an amazing job preparing his new specialty roll. The drunken noodle and lamb chops were also very delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

If you are looking for delicious & authentic Thai then you should RUN, not walk, to Moon Thai! My husband and I are thrilled to have finally found authentic Thai in Charlotte! We tried a few noodle dishes and their dumplings and we absolutely cannot wait to go back and try other dishes! The seasoning, portions, and preparation style were all on point. Plus the service there was excellent! 10/10 recommend! Also FWIW we lived in Thailand so we have been on the hunt for anything even close to what we had there and moon Thai is it!
