New South Kitchen & Bar

Waiter was having a bad day we felt like he was rushing us out. Noisy people behind us. Wasn't comfortable. You put everybody close together. You had enough room to spread us around.

Never had a bad meal at Chris and Sue's restaurants over 30 years. Everything about our dining experience was outstanding. Great menus, farm to table food and service with a smile. Thanks for all the wonderful food over the many years.

Delicious food including the small plates. Awesome chocolate brownie dessert. Excellent service.

This is our first time trying this place. The service was outstanding, the food top notch, and the atmosphere was great. We highly recommend this place.

We have been to New South in the past and have always had a great experience! Last night was equally awesome! The food was very good, served promptly and the low noise level was heavenly! But the best part of our meal was our server Dori! She was experienced, friendly and easy to talk to. I was very impressed with her because she had a "difficult" customer just across from us who felt it was necessary to "make sure she goes to heaven" and Dori was kind, and patient with him. He was difficult to get away from and she was never rushed or unkind to him. Although his diatribe was annoying to us, she was the picture of grace. Well done Dori! We can't wait to come back!

It's always wonderful. From the biscuits to the dessert. Our waiter Rob was exceptional. The halibut special entrée was delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband had the bone and pork chop with cornbread stuffing and cherry glaze and he loved it. We took home our desserts of peach tart, and lemon blackberry cheesecake. Both absolutely phenomenal.

Deviled eggs were excellent - trout was great - didn't care for the pot roast as the gravy is sweet vs rich and I like mine more rich. Same w succotash - didn't have a bacon / salty flavor - more sweet so just personal preference. The Paloma cocktail is different and delicious - I asked for a creamier expresso martini than what's on their menu and bartender delivered perfectly. The blueberry dessert is excellent. So overall good. Some delicious items and some more about personal preference.

The food was okay, nothing to really rave about. It's just a neighborhood restaurant with overpriced decent food. Not a restaurant I would frequent often or visit the next time I'm in Charlotte.

Absolutely a hidden gem. The staple dishes are great and the specials are always a great surprise. Every time we miss an old dish they replace it with something else just as good or better. Our servers are excellent and always friendly (Graham!). We consider this place a perfect spot for date night or a casual dinner. We highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience at New South. It was our first trip to this establishment and we were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. for appetizers we had the fried goat cheese and the deviled eggs; both excellent. The entrees included the flat iron steak, and the grouper. They were nice enough to provide me with a gluten free version. Let's just say there weren't any leftovers as everything was very tasty! For dessert the fried blueberry pie and the cheesecake were very good. Neely our server, attended to our needs promptly and was personable as well. Overall we had a very nice pleasing dining experience and would recommend New South to anyone.

Always good to eat at NSK. Our server Graham is excellent and on top of things. We at the swordfish and it was excellent. Never a bad experience at NSK!

First time in. Staff was great! Our waiter (young man with beard) was Excellent! So was the receptionist who seated us (tall, young woman) who made us feel very welcome! Shrimp & grits is one of my favorite meals - eaten many times in many places. It was the tastiest I've ever had! But... minor issue - bacon chunks were kind of large to the point they stood out as almost a main feature rather than blending in subtley with rest of the other fine ingredients. More significant was that the shrimp were TOUGH - almost like they were frozen rather than fresh. I would vote for fewer shrimp but very fresh. All in all, a great experience. We'll be back!

Great place to go for a nice meal and good atmosphere. The food is excellent and service is outstanding. If you're looking for a place to go on a date or any occasion I highly recommend going here you won't be disappointed!

Met with a friend for Sunday brunch. We had a wonderful meal. Our server, Robbie, was knowledgeable and pleasant. Our food was excellent! My friend had the shrimp omelette and I had the chicken and waffles. Serving size was a little on the large size, especially after the free buttermilk biscuit appetizer. But, both were delicious and came to the table piping hot. Our coffees and waters were kept topped off. We will be back!

Our server was wonderful- Knowledgeable with spot on suggestions. Brought and cleared dishes seamlessly in a timely but not rushed manner. The food and cocktails were amazing. Everything exceeded our expectations!
