I went here on a business lunch with some co workers. We were the only four people in the restaurant. The place has a great atmosphere. The food took forever to come out. The food was bland. The sauces were bland. Three out of four of us didn't enjoy our meals. The vegetable tempora was an appetizer and that was the highlight of my meal. The service was decent but I personally wouldn't recommend.

I want to leave ZERO STARS because it was horrendous! EVERYTHING!!
I’ve lived in Charlotte all my life and Nikkos has always been a great spot for the weekends. A few weeks ago I made a reservation and when we arrived at location not only was it pretty empty for a Saturday night @730p but “Jenny” had no clue about our reservations and said to just take a seat. Once seated, we waited 45 min for anyone to even acknowledge our presence! The party next to us was clearly unhappy and we saw Jenny noticeably arguing with the guests back and forth about their food& service. We tried to get drinks and Jenny didn’t even know what type of drinks they had on shelves. We all decided to go somewhere else, TRYING to be kind we told Jenny about our experience and she suggested to us “that we just leave” Jenny says “that she dislikes working at Nikkos” and “her mangers and bosses always leave her alone” also, “young people are lazy” I will NEVER return nor will I ever suggest this establishment to others. There are too many great restaurants in CLT to settle for Nikkos. Things have changed.
SINCE I HAD TO GIVE A STAR....
We visited Nikko's while in town for my husband’s birthday and I am beyond disappointed. I made reservations for a party of 8, expecting a nice evening, but the experience was terrible from start to finish.
The restaurant was practically empty, which should have been a red flag.
The food was not fresh, served cold, and honestly inedible. Not a single person in our party enjoyed their meal.
The drinks were just as bad — poorly made and nothing like what you’d expect from a restaurant of this reputation.
To make matters worse, our server Jenny was rude and dismissive when we voiced our concerns about the food. Instead of trying to make it right, she made the situation more uncomfortable.
I had hyped this place up to my husband for his birthday, and it completely failed me. This was supposed to be a special night, and instead it was a huge letdown. I visited this place before and it was a great time with great food.
Please bring the old manager back — clearly, things have gone downhill since the change. I would not recommend Nikkos to anyone, especially if you’re planning a special occasion.

The sushi was amazing … BUT the customer service was horrible we had a old women who didn’t bring our 30$ back in change then got mad and asked were we gonna leave her something extremely unprofessional , the teriyaki chicken was extremely dry with no flavor and the rice was dry . music was too loud we couldn’t even hear the server .When you first walk in it smells like sewage we should’ve known . I definitely don’t recommend ! Food 3/10 the sushi is the only thing saving them …service 0/10.

Food is OK, not worth the menu though. Service is abysmal. In defense of the service staff, they are understaffed. Management needs to fix this. I will not be back anytime soon...

If I could give this place a NEGATIVE star I would there was literally 10 people here and 8 of us and the food was NOT fresh AT ALL the drinks was trash. The manager Jenny was NOT helpful at all she literally walked away from the table when we was trying to tell her how UNFRESH the food was. The WHOLE table didn’t eat their food as management you should see something is wrong! But no she was trying to convince me they are the #1 sushi spot that’s not important what is, is that NO ONE in this party have ate their food. Let me be clear we was not asking for FREE food we wanted understanding! The manager & server was RUDE do your self a favor and don’t go there’s way better places in Charlotte to eat. Not sure what happened to the old management but you should bring her back it’s a Friday night and only 10 people in your establishment says A LOT for the #1 in the city.

I love the food here. But the service is wild. The music is making my ears bleed it’s so loud and HORRIBLE. Put a 20% gratuity, on each one of our checks, then put her hands in my yum yum sauce and took it without asking me. She was rude, and it was not professional. Then when you pay online, they ask FOR ANOTHER TIP.

I called 2 wks prior to my organization's Little Black Dress dinner to schedule a reservation. When we arrived, they had no Idea who or what was going on. Our reservation was scheduled for 730 pm. We was not served 2 hours after we arrived. The drinks were delightful.
The music was extremely loud.
I spoke with management a few times. I am truly disappointed. Night ruined. Thanks alot Nikkos.

We celebrated my primo and bro-in-law for their birthdays.
The atmosphere is always good, the music stays on vibes, and everyone is singing lol.
I will say the food was OK. I've been to this location twice before covid hit, and the food presentation was awesome they gave you so much food, enough for 2 people, and they had a live DJ.
This time around, it wasn't like that at all.
But, we still had a good time. Oh, and the sushi was delicious 😋

Never Again
If I could give zero stars, I would. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Charlotte.
Let’s start with the fact that they only had one server for the entire restaurant. ONE. As expected, service was slow, disorganized, and downright frustrating. It took well over an hour for our food to come out, and when it finally did, the server had the nerve to bring it out on a dirty cleanup tray—you know, the kind they use to bus tables with dirty dishes? Absolutely unsanitary and unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the soup I ordered wasn’t just lukewarm—it was cold. Not “cooled off while waiting for a server” cold, but like it had just come out of the fridge. When we voiced our concerns, the server got an attitude like we were the problem. Her energy was nasty, dismissive, and just plain rude by the end of it.
Between the cold food, the hour-plus wait, and the gross presentation, I can confidently say I will never be back. Do yourself a favor—skip Nikko’s. There are too many good spots in Charlotte to waste your time and money here.

The absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. Came here to celebrate a birthday and it took over an hour to put our food order in and our server was nowhere to be seen. We had to ask someone else to take our order and refill our water. 100% will never come back.
