This place USED to have the best BBQ in NC. I went in for my usual 3 trips a week and was told they don’t serve BBQ anymore… ABSURD. Does the owner not know his own skills? This was GRADE A BBQ. I would put it up against any in the state. Instead, I guess they want to be a fried chicken joint. I’m so sad there have given up the craft. Hopefully that recipe won’t go to waste.

Really good food. They make ordinal food like mac n' cheese scrumptious. Good portions too. Masks still required till you start to eat. Very attentive service. Sit down but you order and pay at counter. Unique decor too.

Received a door dash order and was very upset with the outcome. For the price the portions were terrible. The food itself was not good. The ribs and wings were dry and the bbq was not impressive. The sausage had zero flavor. The Mac and cheese tasted like plastic. I did enjoy the spicy collard greens.

Everything was very up to par. I was a pick up order. Great customer service. The brisket was nice n tender! The corn fritters taste good with the bleu cheese. I had the sweet and sassy sauce. I definitely would recommend to all my friends and family.

Great pulled pork! Sides were good too, especially the corn pudding. And I like how they have a selection of sauces- I got the Lexington vinegar dip, and my husband got the sc mustard.

Delicious food! A lot of it! We had the pulled pork, ribs, and andouille sausage. All delicious! The sides we had were the collards (amazing), coleslaw (awesome), baked beans (eh, ok), hush puppies (yummy)! The service was great, the restaurant was spotless! Highly recommended!
I went here for the first time with my boyfriend and it was by far the best service and best food i’ve ever had. i think it was the manager who changed the tv for us and put on football he was very kind. very good prices as well! definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone.

I order a 2 meat combination plate for $16 dollars off of DoorDash assuming that it would be a lot of food for that price. Can someone please tell me why the to-go box was so light the wind almost knocked it off my porch chair. I wasn’t expecting a feast...but this was honestly a sampler plate/snack. There was barely enough meat for it to be a 1 meat plate let alone a 2 meat combo. If you’re going to be charging folks $16 a plate...you should really work on giving them $16 worth of food. 100% ripoff. You got me this time North State...you won’t fool me twice.

I ordered from North State BBQ for my first time using Grub Hub. North Carolina BBQ accepted my order and sent a message saying that they were preparing my meal. Just over thirty minutes, I was sent a message to my text an email that they canceled with the following message. "ReasonThe restaurant canceled this order because it's closed or has stopped accepting orders.". My order was confirmed, they accepted my money which I have to wait up to 5 days to have returned and they were preparing my meal according to Grub Hub and then came the disappointing message. If a restaurant can take payment and indicate they are on process of making the meal, they should honor their commitment. I've been eager to try their food and now I don't believe I'll do business with them since they let me believe that my order was being prepared and accepted payment but then sent a message just over thirty minutes after the transaction. My whole family was hungry and disappointed.
