My experience was amazing! Thank you to all the sushi chefs every single bite was delicious and the manager, Lauren was so attentive. O-ku is definitely my absolute favorite place to dine !
O-Ku is definitely one of my favorite Charlotte restaurants, especially for high-quality sushi. We took a risk of showing up on a Saturday night w/ no reservation, but luckily there were seats open at the sushi counter so it was perfect.
Tonight we had Carson as our waiter and he was absolutely amazing. He was so gracious and never let us feel forgotten. Will definitely be coming back to sit at the sushi counter, & hopefully have Carson as our server again! Thank you to the whole crew for a wonderful night out.

One of my favorites and never disappoints! Celebrated my 50th with friends and they made me feel like a queen the entire evening
First, the sign for O-Ku was easily obstructed, so we ended up walking around the Sola Salon building to find it...when you see the field of glowing mushrooms, walk straight ahaed and yoi'll eventually see the sign on the corner of the building. O-ku have a warm atmosphere, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was good, but it wasn't the best. For example, we had the fried sweet and spicy shrimp at O-ku and Midnight diner and to me, the midnight diner shrimp was better. The food and drinks were good and if i was going with a group of people who wanted sushi, I'd recommend O-ku because the food is solid and it has a good vibe. We didn’t have to wait for a table because we made a reservation, and because it was a special occasion for me, they gave me a special menu which was dope.

We had a fantastic experience at O-Ku Charlotte. The team has maintained the excellent quality we expect from other O-Ku locations while giving this one its own unique feel, including some great custom menu items. We will be back. Thank you to the entire team!
My husband and I were recommended to try this restaurant out and they did not disappoint at all. Our reservation was for 7:30, we were seated right away and our server came over and explained the entire menu to us and answered any questions that we had. The food 10/10, the ambiance 10/10. The overall experience was great from beginning to end. We will definitely be back. If you haven't tried this place, you should definitely put it on your list of places to dine.
My girlfriend and I have been to O-Ku previously and the service has always been stellar and the food is always amazing. Unfortunately, with this experience we waited almost over an hour for our food. The service was still great. We didn't order an abundance of food just 3 pieces of nigiri and 2 sushi rolls. And only after sitting there for a hot min did our server tell us that the kitchen was backed up. We understand that but would have liked to have known sooner.
It was a great choice. I really recommend you to try this restaurant. My wife loved it.
You should
Try the lobster temaki, chef’s specialty

Good place for a date night, as the atmosphere and service were amazing. Loved the Duck Buns, but otherwise found the sushi to just be average.

I recently visited O-Ku in Charlotte for a birthday trip—my first time in the city—and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The ambiance was stunning: modern yet inviting, with a warm energy that made the evening feel special from the moment we arrived. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and our server, Trey, went above and beyond to create a memorable dining experience. We were treated to two tasting plates—the crudo and yellowtail carpaccio—both beautifully presented and bursting with complex, balanced flavors. It was my first time trying dishes like these, and I fell in love with the freshness and finesse behind each bite. The Shogun cocktail quickly became my favorite—strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced. From Trey's recommendations, we sampled a variety of nigiri and makimono, and each piece showcased the chef's skill. The madai nigiri was the standout—delicate, buttery, and impeccably fresh. The Hot and Heavy, Top Shelf, and Truffle Turo rolls were equally exceptional, each with distinct, vibrant flavor profiles and elegant presentation. Trey's passion for the restaurant and The Indigo Road Hospitality Group was infectious—his pride and genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. He's a shining example of what true hospitality should be: knowledgeable, personable, and deeply invested in his guests' enjoyment. O-Ku Charlotte is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine sushi and outstanding service. I'll absolutely be returning on my next trip to the city.
Jasmine was amazing! The service here was a different level. She was so attentive and knowledgeable. The lobster temaki was a show stopper. Our favorite roll was the salmon lemon. It was so fresh and delicious.

Top notch sushi in a very stylish space. We were a party of four and sampled several things, all excellent. The hakozushi (box style) entrees were truly exceptional (we tried both options). Drinks were creative. Service was excellent. A real 5-star experience all around.

I had such a great experience at O-Ku! It was my first visit, and they went above and beyond to make my birthday feel special. The food was incredible, and the service couldn’t have been better. I’d recommend O-Ku to anyone looking for a memorable night out! Our favorite dish was the blue fin carpaccio.

We went to have dinner last night after a friend recommended it to us instead of my usual fav for sushi. We got seated and were welcomed by the GM and the entire staff was so accommodating and helpful and kind. I enjoyed the CHERRY-YUZU SODA which is a twist on the classic Shirley temple. I also loved the lobster fried rice, it was smoky but rich and very loaded with lobster. The seaweed salad was ok, it wasn’t as crunchy as I’d hoped it would be but it was ok. The sushi I ordered(I believe it was a specialty) was not as great, but the presentation was beautiful. The overall aesthetic and ambiance was outstanding, it’s definitely a MUST try in Charlotte.
