OGGI Ristorante Italiano

Great food, great service, but if you’re a larger party and are seated in the enclosed patio area, take heed that it will be extremely uncomfortable with the summer heat. They only have a couple of small portable fans that are absolutely inadequate for the total space, and the ceiling fans (supposedly set to the incorrect direction) didn’t help much. Even the dining room wasn’t much better. I know it’s been hot, but if the customer is uncomfortable I can only imagine the staff.

The butternut squash gnocchi is to die for!!

Family felt like italian, and OGGI was listed as a top rated place in the CLT area. We made the 45+ minute drive, and it was worth it. Looking at some of the other reviews, must have been an OFF day when they visited. We were greeted promptly, sat and served drinks within 3 minutes. We ordered a few items, such as the Arancini, Galician Octopus, and some pasta dishes. The Arancini were great! Not oily, fried crisp, and soft and gooey inside. The Octopus was outstanding! A nice larger portion sat on top of potatoes with a nice finishing sauce. The Frutti Di Mare had plenty of seafood, nice heat and the ink pasta was just toothy enough.
Loved the quater thigh chickens parm with bone, and the plating was nice and elegant.
Crab ravioli was stuffed with fresh crab, nice cream sauce, and over all delightful.

The bread is standard crusty italian, and warm and beautiful! A little olive oil and balsamic, and you're good to go.

I would definitely give this place a try
It's been around awhile, maybe needs a nice scrub down and interior redesign, but other than that, a good classic CLT italian fare staple..

Food was ok not best Italian for the area . For app we had calamari it was ok but small portion for price, we both had the veal chop
Demi glaze was very salty and price seems high for portion and comparable places . Had the cannoli for desert worst cannoli we ever tasted . Being from the northeast we know Italian and deserts the filling in cannoli was not a normal filling. For the price n mediocre food i would recommend going elsewhere

I recently dined at Oggi Ristorante Italiano, and it was a wonderful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with rustic decor that added to the charm. I started with the bruschetta, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I opted for the fettuccine Alfredo, and it was creamy and decadent, perfectly coated with just the right amount of sauce. The homemade pasta truly made a difference. The service was attentive and friendly, with our server providing excellent recommendations. To finish, I couldn't resist the tiramisu, which was light and delightful. Overall, Oggi Ristorante Italiano is a fantastic spot for authentic Italian cuisine, and I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu!

Nice authentic Italian restaurant in Ballantyne area! The pasta is a bit pricey ($36), but the free bread was hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely try the mussels—they were super fresh, perfectly cooked, and the red sauce was packed with flavor. Great spot if you’re craving authentic Italian food!

The lasagna didn’t have a hint of cheese Italian seasoning, the mozzarella was fake and had a taste of celery. And cold , perhaps this is a different spin on lasagna, but not to my NY taste buds. 👎

Our favorite Italian restaurant in Charlotte, unfortunately our dinner went very poorly with pasta carbonara and lasagna. Bad service, we think there was a change of owner or chef 😞

The worst experience ever ! Ordered a salad - greens seemed like they hadn’t been washed properly. When I sent it back for the same
Reason, I was told it was the seasoning ! Ordered a salmon with spinach on the side well done . Was served salmon on a bed of greens that I had returned earlier ! Third time over , my salmon was served rare whereas I had ordered a well done one ! The staff was extremely rude , unapologetic and made the experience HORRIBLE ! Never going back or recommending to anyone !
