We made a reservation for lunch omakase and, by an honest mistake, went to the other PrimeFish location in Ballantyne. Despite calling multiple times to reschedule or arrange a later seating, the hostess eventually called back but refused to accommodate us. Her only suggestion was to try to make it to the correct location—45 minutes away—an impractical and dismissive solution.

When we asked about rescheduling, she pointed to their rigid 72-hour cancellation policy. This policy is far stricter than what we’ve experienced at other high-end restaurants. For a restaurant branding itself as upscale, this lack of flexibility and unwillingness to work with customers is disappointing and unacceptable.

Customer service should be a top priority in this tier of dining. If this is how they treat customers on the phone, I hesitate to imagine the service during the meal. With so many phenomenal sushi options in Charlotte that actually value their guests—like O-Ku, Pisces, Hestia, or even the other PrimeFish location—I strongly advise against making a reservation here. This experience in our case was non-existent and a complete letdown. Happy birthday to me, minus $300.

One of the best dining experiences in CLT. We came for lunch which is ten courses and lasts 1-1.5 hours. Our menu had fish from all around the world and included two starters, eight nigiri (one of which was A5 wagyu), and a complimentary piece of the world’s most expensive melon aka musk melon.

Watching Chef prepare each dish at the intimate six seater bar was part of the fun. His passion comes through in the food and every single thing we ate was delicious. We love Prime in Ballantyne so this was no surprise. Next up - the yakitori omakase at Nusa.

Very high end Omakase experience where the chef takes out all of the guess work for your meal. Each bite was very satisfying texture and taste to awaken your senses. You don’t want lunch to end because the food tastes so great ! Try some high end sake to make the whole thing more enjoyable if that’s possible. Once in a lifetime culinary adventure from a master chef without taking the trip to Japan.

A lovely meal and rare in the Charlotte food scene. The food was all good and the meal progressed at a nice pace. The staff were on top of things.

However, $375 pp felt extravagant especially when we’ve had better omakase in big cities for less. I understand there’s the cost of prime ingredients and flying everything in from Japan, but it still felt too expensive after the experience.

A miss for us was the disposable chopsticks and napkins. At that price point, you should be using proper linen napkins and chopsticks.

Chef Robin is an artist and it shows he cares deeply about each of his dishes. Just as good if not better than many similarly priced omakase places in New York. It’s a splurge but definitely one I’ll be doing

This is not a restaurant, it's a private kitchen where the chef prepares in front of the guests 12 different courses of Japanese fusion food and serves with matching wine and sake for maximum 6 guests. That's right the restaurant can sit at most 6 customers. The ingredients come daily from Japan and the food is absolutely delicious. You can guess that the price is extravagant, but it's once in a lifetime experience.

Not only is this the best sushi in Charlotte, it's one of the best dining experiences. The fish was fresh, the wasabi was real, and the flavors were amazing.
