We can't say enough about Papi's - we absolutely love their food, the kind service, and their willingness to always accomodate our needs. My wife's family is from Puerto Rico and it's always like a taste of home anytime we get an opportunity to cater from Papi's.Chef Tara has a world class team, and I will never stop recommending them to everyone - if we could give more stars we would!!!

Everything here is good except the food.Been here three times, so it isn't like I didn't give the place a chance or I showed up on a bad day.The owner and her family are very nice and they absolutely nailed the atmosphere. They usually have a live band playing or they have some sort of event that brings local Latinos together. But ultimately for me it's about the food.If the food quality was better, this place would be a home run to me.Hopefully in the future they get that situation worked out and reviews of the food improve. Either way I think they are doing positive things and wish them continued success.

Thank you so much to Papi’s Puerto Rican Cuisine! We had food catered for a party to celebrate my grandfather who is 90 years old and is from Puerto Rico! He had been asking for his favorite authentic dishes and Tara did not disappoint! Everything was so delicious and flavorful and tasted like home. My grandfather was so excited and loved the food! His reactions after eating the variety of dishes was priceless! Tara is so wonderful and talented! We can’t thank her and Papi’s enough for making this special celebration perfect! I highly recommend to anyone wanting to throw a party or cater a wedding!

Papi's staff is amazing. They make me feel 'en casa!'No words about the food- no matter what you order, you cannot go wrong. Chef TARA has a true 'boricua' touch in her recipes.Don't wait & ORDER now!!! ;)

PAS: Customer service was great but me as a puertorican I have never tasted a food with lack of seasoning.the arroz con gandules it was little burnt and the taste wasn't close to it, the pernil needed more seasoning and the tostones tasted greasy. But Don't get me wrong the alcapuria was on point but the relleno de papá con carne it tasted bad the mash potatoes tasted rare I was not a favorite. But the environment was great.

I DROVE AN HOUR TO TRY THIS. When I walked into the restaurant, the natural light was very welcoming. The three individuals who were able to assist me were polite, respectful and wholesome. The energy of the place felt like home. I order the perfect rice, that was full flavor. The pernil was so juicy I couldn’t put it down. I was trying to save some for dinner, but ended up eating the whole plate. I could continue to praise this delicious restaurant, but I implore to give them a try. Only complaint I have so far is, that there wasn’t more. Still in shock

This would be the second Puerto Rican restaurant I have been to here in Charlotte. No digs to the first one cause I loved the family feel of the first one and how sweet they were. Food was good too. But at Papi’s?! This place has some flava!!! We ordered the Mofongo con pollo frito and it was A-mazing ! My family also ordered the half rotisserie chicken and the chuletas. As well as some surullitos (corn fritters)and a alcapurria (wish it was more than just one) My one picky eater teen loved the food too, so good job! Our waiter, Franco was super cool and very helpful. Thanks for not disappointing Papi’s!

I came here for dinner with family from out of town to enjoy "authentic" Puerto Rican food. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. After taking our orders, we sat in the most Artic feeling area of the restaurant. The air was on and so was the overhead fan (which we asked them to turn off). We waited almost 10 minutes before they came out and told us they were out of arroz and gandules. It was not even close to closing time (7pm on a Saturday). Could not understand how THAT could run out. The waitress offered to substitute with white rice and beans. My aunt ordered a drink and 5 minutes later they came back and said they were out of tequila! HOW SWAY?!?!? After receiving our meals, we realized it was not that good. We asked our waitress to comp something for all of the troubles we had endured. She told us the manager said that they already gave us a comp with the white rice and beans substitute that were technically considered 2 separate sides. The waitress never told us that. The avocado that was served was already brown and the chicken stew had a strange taste. As a NYer that grew up surrounded by Puerto Rican friends and family, I can say that this spot is not it. I give it two stars for the demeanor and attitudes of the servers; definitely not the food.
