Here was my experience: Petty Thieves Brewing in Charlotte isn’t just a brewery—it’s a full-blown experience. Tucked away like a secret lair for those in-the-know, this place exudes rebellious charm with every pour. The vibe? Think speakeasy meets storybook villain hangout—mischievous, moody, and utterly magnetic.
Now let’s talk beer. These aren’t just craft brews—they’re liquid legends. Every sip of “Bask in the Glow” IPA feels like it was brewed by a rogue alchemist with a taste for glory. Most of the IPAs slap, the lagers glide, and the stouts? They’ll steal your heart and your inhibitions. If you don’t leave with a new favorite, were you even paying attention?
The staff? Cooler than the other side of the pillow. Knowledgeable, passionate, and always ready with a sly grin and a spot-on recommendation. And don’t even get me started on the rooftop view—watching the skyline with a pint in hand feels downright cinematic.
Petty Thieves doesn’t just serve beer—they stage a deliciously orchestrated caper on your taste buds. And I, for one, am a very willing accomplice.
David Lynch will be proud seeing all the scintillating Twin Peaks art inside. The Log Lady whispers the magic words to you as you walk the corridor to the restrooms. It feels like a pilgrimage.
There’s usually a food truck nearby which can be a hit or a miss. Sufficient parking is available outside.
Update‼️ I went back again ya’ll. I had the crab stuffed salmon and honey hot mixed w/ lemon pepper wings 😤🫡🫠 They just don’t miss. I finally found a late night spot that is solid frfr. Amazing food, amazing customer service. You can tell they really take pride in what they do. Thank you Brewton’s!!!!🥰
We absolutely loved this place! The beer selection was fantastic, and the atmosphere was one of the best we've experienced. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. During our visit, we chose to sit indoors, where a live band was playing. While the music was a bit louder than we'd prefer, it provided great background noise as we played cards. Overall, we highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a fun and lively place to enjoy with friends.
Cute space, love the hidden game room, great views, and the bartenders were attentive. Will hang out here again!
We got the Hazy IPA and really liked it. Definitely a cool and different vibe. Great patio. Will be back.
Cool place to hang out for a pint. They have food trucks. Mr Charles Chicken is also nearby. The beers are top notch. We like their pilsners. Do not forget to visit the secret room.
Thanks probably one of the nicest breweries in Charlotte. It feels way more than a club or a study than one of those industrial designed breweries. Its truly a third place, but with beer instead of coffee. Great live music event as well . Petty Thieves is one of those places that I would recommend checking out when visiting Charlotte.
Coolest and most unique brewery atmosphere in Charlotte
'Art is theft',.. Creative cool name, and I dig the brewery's inspiration.
The indoor space is like a chic mix of an industrial coffee shop and Capone era bookstore. Great ambiance for a few beers with some live music.
I only had 1 beer, which, for me, was decent but nothing over the top. I'd definitely make another stop when I'm back in Charlotte to give a few more selections a go. Try it out!
This is an awesome gem of a brewery. Interior feels like a book store.
My favorite beers right now are
White Lotus (Pilsner)
Haymaker (Kölsch)
Hunting attire (Oktoberfest lager)
Disco Volante ( Honey Lager , just a tiny bit sweet)
Relic (Pale ale)
Burden of Boredom (Nitro fruited Blonde - has an awesome head)
I guess you can tell I have been there a few time

Amazing seltzers, food trucks, dog friendly…. The atmosphere is so cool!
If you like breweries this place is a must-visit! Great beer, friendly staff, and a super unique venue with fantastic decorations. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!
Good beer and eclectic atmosphere. Constantly rotating taps means there is usually something for everyone.
The atmosphere is relaxing rather unique. They have a variety of 10 or so different beers on tap and a nice outdoor patio to enjoy them as well as a private room speakeasy type room the venture into. This location has great proximity to music factory and uptown
Recommended to us by Divine Barrel and did not disappoint. Recently voted best interior (I think) and definitely has a cool vibe. Pretty decent amount of seating outside on the patio too with views of Charlotte skyline. People working the bar were super nice and gave great beer recommendations, they had a couple interesting sours that were fun to try. Very much recommend checking it out!
