We wanted to try a new spot to us and so happy we did! The food did not disappoint. We came in early afternoon so there was still some parking available. The customer service was welcoming and everyone checked in. We had the chicken quesadillas, steak burrito, southwest taco, empanadas, and street corn. Everything was delicious! Burrito was perfect size, had to save half for later.
Only feedback is the street corn should be creamy and empanadas more flavor, just preference! Definitely will be returning and recommend!

Nice local joint my partner put me on. Had a classic beef burrito and I cannot complain, flavorful and filling with a side of chips and salsa. Will definitely be coming back here.

As a preface, I was a big fan of the original location and used to go weekly. I went into the new location knowing it would be different, but just hoping for the same flavor experience I had so many years ago.
Food: In that regard, it was the best experience I could hope for. So many years have passed, but the chicken quesadilla and salsa delivered for me like they used to weekly. If you're feeling nostalgic or trying for the first time, I think it's worth it, and the value is definitely there.
Atmosphere: being a fan of the original, that would be difficult to duplicate, but it's getting there. Great lighting without being overly bright, and enough charm to evoke memories of the original, but I thought the original was perfect due to its imperfections.
Service: I had wonderful service just as I remember, and Brittani was just plain awesome - she's a keeper for sure! Hats off to everyone in the kitchen for their ability to bring back one of my favorite meals from so long ago in excellent form.
In conclusion, I'll definitely return when I have the opportunity. In a perfect world for me, it could have reopened in the same location and same building along with the salsa bar. Times change, but it's absolutely worth getting over here to taste the same great flavors.

Got it to go. Got a tofu burrito and it's massive! Its very good. Got a burrito bowl and it's amazing. The queso has great flavor. The mango empanada i think could use some more sweet to it but it definitely has fresh mango and fresh empanadas. The dulce empanada has great flavor and is FULL of filling. Everything is fresh and tastes hand made. Thank yall for the extra care! Will be back

If you like delicious burritos that are bigger around than your forearm, EAT HERE.
I learned about Phat Burrito years ago before they closed and reopened. It is a MUST visit place any time I am in Charlotte. I usually get the BBQ chicken burrito with mango salsa and refried beans, but on my most recent visit, they had a Jerk Chicken Burrito which was mind blowing apparently its a burrito-of-the-day, but if I was a local I would be petitioning for it to be a regular menu addition. My number 1 restaurant in all of Charlotte! A Burrito with a Jarritos soda is a near unbeatable combo!

If you loved the original - you will love the redux. Original owner Steve Justice came in to help them get the recipe's right- and my favorite BBQ Chicken Taco is always perfect here. Will always miss the original - but this version is worth the effort to find the parking. Old school fans will not be disappointed.
The new owner brought back key features such as the checkered floor pattern and the comic book covered pole for the right touch of nostalgia. The logo remains the same but this version is in a newer building and so its a little less dingy and lived in than the original. Clearly a labor of love from someone else who loved the original location like so many of us did.

This was my first time visiting Phat Burrito and baby it was a hit and they didn't disappoint! I took my kids and their friends there after a very interactive and fun time at Beat the Bomb which is literally a 2min walk from Phat Burrito. Their full menu and prices are on their website. Please note they are cashless, except for tips. The music, the energy and patience from staff, the indoor and outdoor seating, the portion size, price, superb customer service, and flavor of food earned this delicious restaurant a 5 star 🌟. The only concern is its street parking and can be difficult to find a parking spot. However, I suggest going to Beat the Bomb first then walking over to this AMAZING spot. It was the icing on the cake for us!

Tried Phat burrito on a Friday afternoon for lunch and the place wasn’t too busy. The hubs ordered a chicken, steak, and shrimp tacos while I ordered a burrito kids meal that came with a burrito, a side (which I chose chips and queso), and a drink. We also had an order of churros. I believe the total was around $25, with the kids meal being $8, which I thought was great. The churros were simply delicious. They are mini churros with no filling, and it comes with a caramel sauce. The hubs loved the shrimp and steak tacos, but wasn’t a fan of the chicken one. I truly loved the chips and queso and most likely will be back to get that, tacos, and the churros. I was not a fan of the beef burrito. It was bland. Just a heads up that the company does not accept cash, also parking is horrible as this location is located at the end with no direct parking attached to it. The atmosphere was great and we loved the staff. The lady that greeted us at the front was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. We will definitely be back.
We ordered two burritos for take online ordering. When we got back to our apt both burritos were completely wrong. One was missing half the ingredients, which we had had paid extra for. And the other had a bunch of random ingredients in it when it was supposed to just be chicken and rice only.
Finally a taco joint that doesn't put dumb crap on their tacos (im looking at you, onions and cilantro)
Found my new go to joint in Charlotte!
Literally my favorite place!
N the atmosphere always is great
