Great diner and very nice food selection, The chicken alone is worth a visit. Never had a bad thing on the menu, the management and staff are super attentive . But, let's be honest with ourselves, the real thing is beverages. just go and get one of the beverage and you won't regret it.
I absolutely loved this place! So retro and cute. I'm very sad that it is closed down now. I hope it does relocate soon so I can have their signature soda.
We heard they were closing so we took a trip just to try it. They had a buffet set up so when you walked in you could not sit at the counter. Irlt was fine for us but we had no idea they even had a buffet for brunch.
I'm so glad I came this week...they are closing Friday..😫Had the honey pecan chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole...got a bread pudding and grilled pimento to go...😅 very nostalgic little eatery. It's like you walked back in time. The food is great and so is the service...hope they relocate soon...this is a loss for Charlotte...
Authentic old fashioned soda shop cuisine with a twist. This place is a staple in Charlotte so if you haven't been, you need to! The food is based on an authentic style soda shop with a chef-inspired twist. For example, I had the Honey Pecan Fried Chicken with broccoli casserole and buttermilk mashed potatoes, which is something I will definitely be returning for.
I've grown up coming to Pikes and it has always been one of my favorite places in the city. It's perfect for a casual meal with friends or a laid back date night dinner. The food is always fresh, tasty, reasonably priced, and the menu features a good mix of classic old school home cooking, mouthwatering burgers and sandwiches, and creative twists on old classics; personal favorite being the honey pecan fried chicken 😠The milkshakes and black cows (or anything from the dessert case or list of ice cream creations for that matter) have me driving from pineville every chance I get, even just to get one to go. The staff always treat you like family and the whole experience has always been amazing for the 25 years I've been coming here.
I was so excited to eat here, a friend had insisted I come try the bread pudding. After several minutes of indecisiveness I decided to try something out of my norm and ordered a tuna melt. It was okay, it wasn't bad but they put a lot of produce in the salad that I don't particularly care for. But as I sit eating the sandwich I didn't really like another family sat next to me. The same server that was taking care of me very excitedly exclaims to them "oh I love newbies, let me show you some things on the menu. People come from all over for this item". Um, excuse me I'm a newbie too and maybe if I had received that type of attention perhaps I would have actually ordered something I would enjoy. As he ran by the server asked if I wanted my check and I had to stop him to ask for the bread pudding. It was pretty good. But, I think I had a sour taste in my mouth by that point.
Classic Charlotte place. Service was great, our server was really friendly and helpful. Got the salad with friend chicken tenders on it. Really good. Everyone liked the dishes they ordered. Food is a cut above a diner. Definitely a pace to bring people visiting. I recommend.
Great food and atmosphere! Kiki was an amazing server...knowledgeable and so much fun!
Kids liked their root beer floats, PBJ sandwich with fruit and mashed potatoes. Good chicken pot pie and onion rings

The food is wonderful and the service and staff are amazing!!
quaint, retro, great service, delicious food
The atmosphere was ok.
Love this Charlotte staple. Come on Charlotte. Get out and support the good ol' places that are still offering good food and ice cream. It was a shame to see such a huge line at Jennie's and no wait at Pikes. Group think and something "new" takes business from a great spot. Next time your in the area visit the place with character and history and great shakes and sundaes!
Cool decor. Friendly environment. Delicious food. The pecan chicken, broccoli casserole and sweet potatoes are perfect. The macaroni isn't your typical macaroni it's smoked gouda or pepper jack cheese and it's more of a creamy stove top sauce mac than oven baked southern style.
