tle: Disappointing Bolognese, Too Soft eggplant & Rude Management Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I was really looking forward to the Bolognese here—especially after being upsold on meatballs—but I left frustrated and still hungry. Eggplant for an appetizer was the 1st disappointment, but with no complaint, we just let it go. When my entree plate arrived, the sauce on the pasta was so light it was practically dry, with no steam. The ‘meatballs’ showed up on the side, swimming in marinara instead of integrated into the dish. To make matters worse, the pasta was undercooked, and definitely not al dente. I flagged it with my server right away and asked if I could order something else. She disappeared for several minutes, then came back with a manager—who took another 8 minutes to show up. I politely explained again that the pasta was raw with a grainy chew and the sauce was missing, and that I’d rather switch to pizza. His response: “You just can’t try stuff on the menu” and “What don’t you like about it?” in a tone that felt condescending. In defense, I even mentioned I’m a certified executive chef from Le Cordon Bleu, but it didn’t seem to re-register any professionalism or respect. Eventually he swapped in a cheese pizza but never checked back or offered an apology. The food I tried wasn’t traditional Bolognese or a creative twist, just underwhelming. In a city with so many options, basic courtesy and decent cooking shouldn’t be hard. I hope they step up both their kitchen and customer service—this was a miss on both fronts. My $20 tip on a $60 bill was sympathy to the server, that’s learning customer service from the same management experience I encountered. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

The staff were extremely friendly and the food came out super fast! This was close to our hotel so we walked there and it couldn’t have been a better experience. It felt like a genuine Italian experience with the pizzas being thin and more about the toppings. I was able to eat a whole pie by myself.

Stopped in after shopping and ordered dinner to go. Service was great while ordering and our food came out fairly quickly for just walking in! The lentil soup was still piping hot after getting back to our hotel! We both ordered the Bolognese with spaghetti noodles. For the price, the portion was incredibly small and lacked flavor. Some seasonings and fresh herbs would have gone a long way in the sauce. Pasta texture was good, but pretty flavorless.

I absolutely love this pizzeria! The best pizza in Charlotte! Delicious green salads, handmade desserts! European atmosphere and great service! I RECOMMEND!

Excellent food and service. Truly worth the visit for quality ingredients in fancy-casual Italian food. And plenty of parking available in the adjacent parking garage.

The food was excellent. Service was very good and efficient. Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Tiramisu was delicious. We will definitely be back.
