Great place to hang out. The bartender Kristen was super nice. The patrons are all friendly. Good daily specials. They crank the AC during the dog days of summer. I highly recommend stopping in to catch any game or just grab a drink or food.

Place is literally the best bar in the world just don’t go when Emily is the bartender! She’s rude and unwelcoming. If you refuse to tip her for her bad service she will double charge your card and take your money.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Had a pretty good Maker’s Old Fashioned, wings and 2 beers. The wings were fantastic. All the flavor without being aggressively hot. Great experience!

Came from San Francisco to visit Charlotte for 3 weeks and frequented this spot because it was close to my family’s place. Each time I was served by Chelsea or Emily and both girls are so wonderful. The food is great . I’m a hazy girl and they have a great local choice. It’s low key and safe for a girl travelling alone.Always be smart though/ everything I ordered to eat was good .

If you’re looking for a GOOD sandwich, don’t think twice - visit this place! My husband and I sat at the bar on a Saturday early evening. I had the turkey Rueben and he had the French dip. Potato salad as a side for him (yum!) and celery and blue cheese for me (come on who has that as a side!? I LOVED IT). Go in without expectations of a nice atmosphere, this is a dive bar (but clean!), so if you can’t hang with that, it’s probably not for you. Must try their sandwiches and I promise they won’t disappoint!

Let me tell youu!!! Kristen does not come to play! She will make your experience a time to remember! I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was bomb! Only reason I got it is because Kristen was there to steer me right. Oh and the drinks!!! Don’t play with herrr!!! The Pub at Gateway is the way to go especially if my girl Kristen there! Check it out!

Overall OK experience. My server was very nice, but I walked in and she was cursing and talking about the government being a mob which is a little off putting for an afternoon lunch break. The food was okay. The burger tasted like a frozen patty, and didn’t seem fresh. Probably a nice place for night time atmosphere but if you just want good food I would go somewhere else.

I can positively guarantee that the food is great. We ordered 7 different plates of food for the table and they were ALL GREAT. Hands down best food I’ve had in Charlotte. Bartender great, security on point and seems to be good local spot. We will definitely be returning.
