I love this place. I always come grab my beans in person because the staff are so kind and knowledgeable. The Black Hat is superb and I love the limited edition beans that rotate. Ignore the (very limited) bad reviews and remember common sense isn't so common...lol

Super pretentious.
Update: That is easily the most pretentious reply from an owner I've read recently.

They allow customer walk-ins to pickup products when in the area. This helps avoid shipping costs. Today 6/24, it’s 97 degrees at 2pm. The door is locked. There is a lady at the window that watched me walk to the door, ring the bell twice, and not move. Not sure if there were others that could see me as I’m wiping sweat from my head. Never attempting this again, or purchasing their product.

Wonderful roaster, with almost unbeatable quality for the price. Whether you want a dependable blend or exotic single origin, they have it on stock. My only gripe is I wish they were a little nerdier with their origin tracing. I know with some origins like Sumatra this can be difficult, but the Columbian should at least give a distinct region. I think it is just even more apparent because the Ethiopian and Peruvian origins are so well described and distinct.
Super pretentious.
This isn't a coffee shop, but the actual roaster where they roast and bag all their beans. That being said, there is no better place to get your coffee, as it's as fresh as it gets here.
As I walked up i instantly noticed the beautiful aroma of roasting coffee beans, and it only gets better the close you get. I stopped by just to pick up a bag of beans, and literally watches them load the beans into the package I was purchasing.
It also might be cheaper to get your beans here, as there is no middle man retailer, I'm not sure what a bag might sell for elsewhere, but it was $12 for a 12oz bag of Black Hat whole beans. If you like local coffee, definitely worth stopping by!

Great indoor decor and great tasting coffee and most importantly friendly staff. This location is not a coffee shop though if you're reading this review.
I don't usually drink coffee because of my crippling anxiety.. But when I do decide to take a walk on the wild side I always choose to take that walk with Pure Intentions.

I purchase this brand regularly. Its excellent coffee. This company provides single origin, blends, select varieties, you name it. And, more importantly, they provide fresh coffee. Coffee is best no greater than 3 weeks PAST roasting date.My only suggestion for this provider of the best coffee in the Charlotte area is:Go back to the labels with “Roasted on” date. It matters to more folks than you think. Over the last 2 months the brand has switched to a “BEST BY” label dating that mimics these other, less fastidious to quality, brands. While this subtle change often goes unnoticed by some folks, it is a habit of companies that want to maximize profits over commitment to quality.Your company roasts the best coffees the best ways and it shows. Keep it that way. Go back to “Roasted On” labels. Lets us consumers know the folks behind the scenes are still committed to giving us the best.God bless, (bought two more bags today)JSRI, MD
Amazing coffee by even more amazing people!
