Everything was beautifully displayed, and the team was so kind, professional, and accommodating. The tasting was also a lot of fun, we felt like they took the time to help us figure out every detail. I reached out to QC Catering because they were listed as one of the preferred vendors for my wedding venue. When I first contacted the team for a consultation, I shared that I lived on the West Coast and was planning my wedding in the Charlotte area. I also clearly communicated our culinary preferences and the family-style dining experience we envisioned.
I received an initial quote shortly after, which included a nice range of options. However, it didn’t reflect the flavor profiles or style we had discussed. That was understandable at the time, as I expected we’d continue refining the menu together.
The bigger issue came when I tried to schedule a tasting. I let my sales representative know I’d be in town for one week only and hoped to schedule the tasting during that window. She responded that she would be out on vacation during that time and asked if I could choose another week, despite me having already mentioned I lived across the country. Only after I pushed back did she offer to check if a colleague could host us, which felt like a last-resort suggestion rather than the obvious next step. As someone who works in sales myself, it came across as prioritizing lead ownership over client experience.
When I arrived in Charlotte, I had tastings scheduled with QC Catering and another company. Unfortunately for QC, I attended the other tasting first and had an excellent, thoughtful experience. By contrast, my tasting with QC felt rushed and impersonal. Surprisingly, my original sales rep was actually present, despite previously stating she would be out of town. That alone left me confused and a bit uneasy.
The tasting itself didn’t include many of the dishes we specifically requested. Instead, we were served several items we hadn’t selected. The team’s energy, both from the sales rep and the chef, felt disengaged and rushed. It didn’t set the tone of a team that was eager to earn our business or excited to be part of our celebration. The food itself was fine, but unfortunately not memorable... several dishes reminded us of airline food in terms of quality.
I truly wanted to love QC Catering, and I know many others have had great experiences. But based on our consultation, communication, and tasting, I didn’t feel confident they could deliver the level of hospitality and service we wanted for our wedding day.
