Queen's Soul Food.

Ordered ribs, they were butt ends, not ribs. Grisly, no meat. Had Mac n cheese, terrible. Corn bread was dry.
For this place to survive, they need people who has cooked soul food.
Will never go back!!

The food and service was great. My mom is visually impaired and the employees were patient and respectful. Chef Andre fried up a delicious piece of Whiting and was very personable. I will be back when on the East Side!

I rarely do reviews but felt this must be said. I stopped by yesterday afternoon for a to-go plate as I was in the area and sadly, after spending $45 to try a variety - I threw the ENTIRE meal away!
- Atmosphere wasn’t the cleanest
- Food presentation subpar - but I’m thinking “hey” so are most soul food joints and they’re usually the best - right?

The largest red flag should have been that NONE of the employees I saw had “soul” flobw (… and no shade). I would think the same if you saw ME in a Mexican or Indian restaurant as we go for that “authentic” cuisine.

The employees could barely speak English but I got a large plate with baked chicken, smothered pork chop with 3 sides and a side order of oxtails.

Food served cafeteria style - still ok for a soul food joint / HOWEVER upon ONE bite, I could tell the food was not fresh and had the aftertaste of being in that container for more than a day - did I mention also no seasoning? I mean everything tasted as if it was in leftover phase - and not just yesterday’s - and lacked enough proper seasoning to masquerade the back taste. After trying 1-2 bites of each meat and side, I threw it ALL away bc I really feared getting sick as that after taste only got stronger.

If I was closer, I would’ve returned with everything to request a refund - but I feel it’s necessary to say “please do better”. When you trust your name / food / reputation to employees, make sure it’s done right. I mean this wasn’t even to the standard of that one cousin at Thanksgiving who knows she can’t cook - but keeps bringing a dish that she’s now insulted nobody will eat!!
$45 wasted and still had to cook after an already long day.

Very disgusting never again the oxtails was fatty and nasty the rice Mac and greens were nasty even the lemonade was nasty smh my spouse got fried chicken Mac and yams and it was nasty to him even the sweet potato pie

The food was terrible. Mashed potatoes was lumpy, the chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease and the Mac and cheese was stiff and too salty.

I must apologize, because I forgot the chef's name. However, the oxtail was fantastic. The chef was extremely friendly and helpful in helping us with our order. Will definitely go back. I really love this place. And by the way, the prices were great.

I do not like leaving bad reviews for anyone, but as a new resident to Charlotte, looking for great places to grab a bite to eat this was one of my least favorites which sucks because it’s so close to my house. The service was great. everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, but the food was lacking in flavor.The most edible thing on my plate was the turkey wing, and even that wasn’t great. This place could really be better if some adjustments were made to the Food sadly, I will not be back.

Staff was extremely rude. Came in on Saturday and it states online they close at 9:30,however, the employees clame they close at 9pm. They stated the restrooms were closed at 8:15pm and rushed us to make our plates and the sodas were flat.

..red velet....only complaint..is you get a small cup with all that food ...

This place was a hidden gem. A hole in wall spot with good soul food. I had the oxtails amd mac and cheese.

Food don’t have no seasoning. Collard greens is nasty. Cabbage is nasty. The yams are the baked beans are canned will never go here again waste the $30.
