I visited this wonderful place for the first time yesterday. God-willing it won’t be my last!
After the first taste of my oxtails entree, and then sampling his barbecue chicken, I told my frat brother who accompanied me: “I’m gonna be spending some money here today!” ?

Without being able to finish the huge portion of my dish, I ordered and left with escovitch fish, curry shrimp, and my own barbecue chicken. I am gloriously eating my way through these meals, and enjoying equally as delicious sides of rice and peas, potatoe salad, mac and cheese (real mac and cheese ?). cabbage, and plantain.

THIS is tops for me when it comes to the authentic Jamaican food I’m accustomed to enjoying in New York when the original spices from the mother country invade your palate and bring satisfaction.

Soooooo, sooooo good and reasonably priced with great portions.

Burn beef patties and when I told them he just gave me one more burnt beef pattie when i wanted him to remake it and I payed for 3.

The beef patties were hard and over cooked. Possibly the worse patties I've tasted. Threw them in the trash. Didn't even taste like beef patties....how is that even possible! Never going back. They need to be ashamed. Paid 27.00 for some crap!!!!

Perfect. The first word that comes to mind after stopping inside of the restaurant on 9/5/2018! I ordered the jerk chicken, pumpkin rice, cabbage and plantains as suggested by the friendly young lady who took my order and welcomed me to Charlotte. The chef made my jerk sauce spicier as requested. Headed there again tonight! Yeah it’s thats good.

This used to be my SPOT!! I started coming when they first opened and always got the best treatment. I hope nothing has changed. I loved the orange rice and purple cabbage! The sauce was everything ?!! Everything was always super fresh. Thank you for being a go to where I could enjoy great food hang out, feel safe & welcome.

Vegetarian options: It’s been so long but I think I used to get the veggie plate.

I ordered jerk chicken and the chicken was old. Chicken cooked in the oven or on the grill if fresh the skin and meat is very different from old meat covered with heavy barbecue sauce.

First let me say the customer service sucks the female moves real slow she have you pay for your order and make you wait on your drinks forever to take other people orders yes it was only her but in that kind of business when a customer payed already finish getting there drinks first while they are waiting for there food then take the next order not tell the customer I’m only one person unprofessional she couldn’t work upscale restaurants and number 2 ! Omg omg omg omg the potato salad do not suppose to be soup potato salad. Rey very very nasty taste and ingredients please take it off the menu you can’t make it black peoples know potato salad ! Number 3 the Mac and cheese is awful awful awful and funny color bad taste not cheesy and the ingredients are wrong in the champion in making potato salad. And Mac and cheese maybe she need my help cause I get mad request from people to make it their cook outs! Number 4 smh smh curry goat the worst I ever had she made it mushy like you have no teeth she had to pressure cook it ! Wrong move and heavy on season it took the actual taste of goat away !!!! Smh so disappointed! Number 5 the yams where good number 6 the white rice and rice and peas was disgusting my husband was so disappointed and he is Jamaican and he regret spending all that money his food is soooo much better it wasn’t work going out! Number 7 ! Smh he immediately got sick to his stomach cause he decided to eat it anyway but I couldn’t eat mines wasn’t eatable now he is sick today the only thing we haven’t taste that we brought was curry chicken roti cause he got sick he can eat nomore of the food 90 something dollars down the drained she need to hire someone who can cook better when it comes to certain things ! Hell my husband will do it on the side ! This place deserves below zero stars none at all food and service it terrible rice not freshly made Mac and cheese was made a couple of days ago and heat it up in the microwave who she think she fooling we are foodies every Bussiness is not for everybody just you had the money to get one ! Keep this up it will not be in business for many years do better you need some teaching to certain things or she just don’t care pissed off money was not worth it we should of went to a seafood boil instead this is not a gem like people are saying not at all!

Lawd have mercy. Best jerk chicken I had in while. The veggies are life especially the cabbage. I'm going today for the oxtails I'm sure it will be good. This place was very clean. And customer service was great. I highly recommend this place.

Prices are ridiculously high

Today is Sunday 7/7/24 Today is my fourth time coming here and they don't have what I want. How do you not have white rice
They open at 1 but she said she doesn't know what time they will open because they don't have anything. I am so very disappointed. When they have what you want the food is amazing.
I think that Today will be my last time coming.

The best thing for me is the cabbage and greens at quidleys. I do wish they served more authentic cuisine especially callaloo and ackee. Service is ok. When one particular person is taking orders, especially to go, there is always an issue.
