Quidley's Delight

I recently visited Quidley's Delight in Charlotte, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The portion sizes were noticeably small, especially considering the price point. The food quality was not very good as advertised, and I found the flavors to be lacking.

On top of that, the customer service was poor, leaving me feeling undervalued as a customer. If you aren't gonna have one thing, at least have the other?!

To make matters worse, the owner's behavior was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Overall, I would not recommend Quidley's Delight based on my experience. Do not waste your time! In all honesty, it is not even worth a star.

Ya'll are missing out. The food is great. The hospitality is outstanding. When you dont have to add seasoning to your food... baby, they like that. It's been a while since I had good jerk and there is nothing to complain about here. Thank you!!! I'll be back!

Jerk chicken was distasteful and nasty. And so is the customer service. Manger is unprofessional and doesn’t know how to run a business. Would not recommend eating here.

I could’ve just walked to Jamaica and back and the food still wasn’t ready, mind I called in 30 mins prior…as of now I’m still waiting … legend has it I’m waiting..

Came here Sunday with a friend. Wanted to try a new spot (bad idea) I ordered oxtails with rice and peas cabbage and yams. My friend ordered oxtail with rice and peas macaroni and yams. Didn’t care for the setup of the restaurant, definitely not somewhere you want to dine in at. They gave my friend cabbage instead of macaroni because they didn’t have anymore and would be 30 min til the next batch was ready. The oxtails were fatty, the yams were a weird consistency as if they been sitting out all day, cabbage was lookin more like collard greens, the rice and peas were dry and on top of all of that the food wasn’t even hot

I wasn’t going to do this because the food is actually good but today was completely unacceptable and this is literally the third time they did this to me out of the last three ONLY times I ordered out of this whole year .. I ordered the oxtails on Uber eats and it’s $36… which is already nuts… I get to the place and had to use the bathroom . Guy tells me it’s basically not open to the public or some bs… I’m already pissed about that because if you up charging oxtails how your bathroom not working ? None the less , when I actually get the food I didn’t get any oxtail with meat on the bone if I did it was only like one , the rest are little pieces with fat no meat.. highly disappoint and until they stop doing this I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone you are wasting your money .

Ain’t NOTHING delightful about Quidley’s “Delight.”

I ordered the oxtails with white rice, and the jerk chicken with rice & peas, cabbage, and plantains — and let me tell you something: this was a straight-up disaster on a plate. Tasteless. Bland. Sad. Even the plantains were soggy and had some weird, mushy consistency like they were sitting in a steam tray since last week. How you mess up plantains?! That’s actually impressive… in the worst way.

I’m a Caribbean food connoisseur — jerk, oxtail, curry, you name it. I know what it’s supposed to taste like. I even cook it myself and I’m not even Jamaican, but my food would wipe the floor with this so-called “delight.”

Let’s be real: this ain’t it. There’s no passion in that kitchen, no flavor, no skill. Just plates of disappointment and wasted money. Please, do us ALL a favor and leave the Caribbean dishes to the chefs who actually know what they’re doing — the ones who make our taste buds dance, not cry.

Charlotte has Caribbean food lovers. We deserve better than this mess.

Very disappointed in the food portion. Yes the food taste great however I barley had 4-5 ox tails maybe 2 big the rest very small. I only had four small pieces of yams and that was it. For the price Caribbean Hut food portions are WAY better. My husband plate was the same two main oxtails and rest super tiny.

Do not order carry-out and expect to have your food ready by the time you get there. Expect to wait an additional 20-30 min after your arrival. Food isn’t worth the wait in my opinion but big up to my wife. She loves it and believes it’s worth the wait.

I wish these black owned places would do better bc I really hate to give 1 star but my experience was terrible. I waited over an hour for an oxtail plate and a jerk chicken plate. I also initially ordered a beef patty I wanted hot the cashier said she only has mild. After their hour passes by and my to go order comes out there is NO PATTY. I ask for it, they say that they ran out an only have chicken even tho when i ordered it the girl told me she was putting it in the oven. Guess she never did. Bc he offered me a chicken patty that I would need to wait longer for , I simply told him I don't want it I just want a refund. Didn't even have the energy to ask the girl what happened to the patty she told me she was putting in the oven bc it OBVIOUSLY didn't happen. I won't ever come back here. First impression was a lasting one for sure. Sad, do better!

& even worse, just got home and realized they didn't even get my order right so it took them over a hour and didn't even give me my plantains for my side, really sad that I actually tipped them. Going forward no one will get a tip until after I get my food due to this experience.

Horrible customer service I called in and placed and order I was told it would be about 20 mins. I get to the store 30 mins later and they make me pay for the food then start making the order it should have already been ready. The cashier tells it will be a few mins. Well over took almost another hour. So I explained about how long I was waiting and if they give me a piece with my order for the wait they said
No and this ain’t fast food. So at that point I asked for a refund… the manager/cook walked back in the kitchen and the cashier said she didn’t know who to do one…. Are you serious???!! Just a horrible experience.
