I ordered right before the kitchen closed and still received excellent customer service over the phone and in person, my veggie plate was outstanding, especially the engera & silsea. Compliments to the gentleman working the bar last night and the chef! Highly recommend if customer service & quality of food is important to you!!!

This review is overdue. I'd been driving past, wanting to try this place for a while. I used Uber Eats for dinner on Wednesday, 12-21-22. I ordered the fish tibsi (whiting fish), beef sambusa, and cheesecake. They also gave me plenty of injera. The tibsi came with two vegetables. The sambusa were full of meat. I had plenty of food leftover for the next day.It was a good dinner after a long work day. The next time I have the taste for Ethiopian food, I'd definitely order again or visit.

This would be a five star review if the food did not take so long to arrive.First, I would like to say that I understand that everything is cooked to order, but at some point it feels like it’s too long. It’s hard to tell when that time is, but I think diners instinctively know when food is taking too long (we start looking around and checking our watches). We were enjoying a nice bottle of Tej, but we were almost to the bottom of the bottle. So from the time we entered the restaurant to the time we received our food was about an hour. And that is a bit too long. Now, for all of the positives! The food was delicious! Really fabulous. We are huge fans of Ethiopian cuisine, and, in fact, we used to have an Ethiopian restaurant in our neighborhood in Boston that we walked to at least once a week.A lot of our old favorites were here, and the food was spiced perfectly. So very good. The Injera was also very good. We’ve been to a couple places where the Injera doesn’t seem traditional, and this was excellent, and definitely traditional. One ordering mistake that I made: I have never seen shrimp on an Ethiopian menu, and I ordered it, and it was a little bit dry, but that’s my fault for ordering shrimp. I don’t think it’s a very traditional dish to have on the menu. I should have stuck with the things that I know and love! The veggies were amazing. The spicy foods were perfectly spicy without being too spicy. The meats were excellent and tender. Everything was really wonderful. And I love the fact that they have Tej by the bottle. Our server was also nice and, again, the whole experience was excellent and would be five stars if it were not for the unusually long wait between the time we ordered and the time the food arrived. I know that cooking food to order takes time, but this just exceeded the threshold of what we thought was a normal amount of time to be waiting for dinner. We will definitely go back. It could be that they were just shortstaffed in the kitchen that day.

Delicious every time! The avocado salad is incredible and almost a meal all by itself. We always choose the veggie platter. The injera is authentic and the stews are all perfectly spiced. Can't believe more people don't know about this place. The location is convenient although not fancy at all. Don't let that slow you down though, because the food is some of the best in Charlotte.

Beautiful people and restaurant. The food was so good I'm about to eat the rest for snacks and breakfast. ??? Plus, they had no issues with Marley, my service dog, being in the restaurant. That was a huge plus! MarMar really liked the server we had, too.Vegetarian options: Cabbage, potatoes, greens with great flavor. Lots of good flavored vegetarian options. The bean sauces were a hit.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere was beautiful. Lots of amazing artwork and historical items on the walls.Parking: Loads of spots. It's free to park as long as you get some food.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it may be a little difficult for some, depending on the size of wheelchair to get thru the entry ways. They are ok with service animals, respectfully. Overall I'd say it's a pretty ADA compliant resturant. If you are in a wheelchair Id suggest having extra assistance getting to the table. Maybe some valet service ?❤️‍???Dietary restrictions: They were very nice about the spice levels. My ma can't handle too spicy but everything came out perfect for her. She really enjoyed it. I got the spicy sauce and she liked that too. ?
