Nice concept, the service is very good.
Food is good, wine is good. Dessert have large improvement. I think the price per quality is a little high

Went for the first time yesterday and cannot say enough good things about this place! We attended for my fiancé’s birthday and the whole team had signed a card, which was waiting for us at our table; a lovely first impression.
Literally every dish we ordered was superb. We haven’t had food this good in Charlotte in a long time and before we finished our meal, we were planning our next trip back. We hated to finish each dish, but the silver lining was getting to move to the next one.
Summer, our server, was an absolute star the entire night. We couldn’t have been in better hands.
Thank you and congratulations to the entire team- you’re doing something amazing here.

What an outstanding dining experience! From the warm, genuine welcome at the door to the relaxed, inviting atmosphere, we were impressed from the start. Our server’s recommendations—jalapeño cornbread, tuna crudo (wow!), and the tomato corn arepa—were absolute perfection. I’m still dreaming about that cornbread and wishing I could make it at home every day.
For mains, we enjoyed the scallops and the pork chop—both cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Easily a 10/10. We had the Chablis wine and Bonny Dune Rose.
If you get the chance to dine here, don’t pass it up. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is exceptional, and the entire experience will leave you planning your next visit before you’ve even left.

Excellent food and service! Every single bite was perfection and the dishes were all so creative and fresh. This is seriously some of the best food in Charlotte, hands down. The service was excellent too- warm, knowledgeable, fun and hospitable. THE ONLY reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the 90 minute time limit for our table left us feeling incredibly rushed through out the meal. We didn’t have a chance to finish our wine let alone order dessert. It definitely took away from the overall experience since we were so under the gun to get in and get out. I can see 90 minutes working for a 2 top but anything beyond that should be allotted 2 hours so everyone can enjoy their meal. Plus the portions are fairly sized so it takes some time to eat everything. The servers were trying to clear our plates while there was still food on them (not their fault, they are clearly trying to stick to the timeframe). Please, please consider allotting 2 hours for reservations, it would make such a difference!

Restaurant Constance did a fabulous job with our Rehearsal Dinner event! From start to finish, communication regarding the details of what we wanted was excellent (thanks Maggie!)--from the menu, to the local farm sourced flowers, the seating chart, place cards, sign, and the slideshow (they have a wonderful set-up for this!). Everyone raved about the food, especially the appetizers (smoked chicken lettuce wraps, pork belly dumplings, and hamachi), as well as one of the custom mocktails which included watermelon, blackberry, and lime. It is a cozy space for 40 people, but the servers did a great job maneuvering. Kate, Kyle, and Riley were amazing and during the event I was constantly checked in with regarding the flow of events. I especially appreciated this aspect. I cannot recommend Restaurant Constance highly enough for a special event!

Perhaps they had an off night. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy this meal.
If you order the strip steak, be warned that you will get a bunch of chopped up little pieces of steak in sort of a stir fry plating. A little misleading because we were all expecting a piece of steak.
Everything else was mediocre at best.

Best meal I had in Charlotte!
First, I was 45 minutes late to my reservation due to traffic and road closures from a Bananas game, and they were SO nice and so generous to still let me dine there! Everyone was so nice and my server gave the best recommendations. I also did the non-alcoholic pairing which was AMAZING. Highly recommend!!! I had the moonlight mile, a non-alcoholic sangria, and a watermelon drink. I wish more restaurants would do this!
I LOVED the hamachi, the soft shell crab, and the scallops were to die for. The cast iron jalapeño corn bread was SO good but I had to take it back because I couldn't finish!
It's such a cute place and everything from start to finish was superb. Great hospitality.

Really such a delightful meal overall.
I was initially eyeing the nori wraps but were told the chicken lettuce wraps were a must, and they were. The chicken was great and nicely flavored. It came with an adorable little squeeze bottle sauce. The steamed shrimp and clam bowl is a dish we would typically skip but I'm glad we didn't here, as this was also an interesting combination of flavors that we really enjoyed.
The entree menu doesn't have a TON of options but we enjoyed the three we got. My favorite were the scallops, which were perfectly tender and the sauce divine. The porchetta was aesthetically pleasing and others really enjoyed this, but it was a bit too fatty of a dish for me. The beef short ribs were also aesthetically pleasing and the sauce was perfect for this. The meat was tender and pulled apart nicely.
We were heavily recommended to get the chocolate miso tart, which was much better than I would have expected. The shortbread base part was a really great bite.
The service was phenomenal and super personable. The pictures in the bathroom paint a picture of a really close-knit group of people running the restaurant. The only oddity was that as we were sat, we were specifically told we only had the table for 90 minutes. This became something of a joke throughout the meal amongst us and we certainly weren't rushed out, it was just a strange thing to start the vibe with. I do wonder if the menu is overall a skosh on the pricier end for the area, but the portions were ample.
A lovely option for dinner.

This was the first meal in Charlotte where I felt that the $250 price was justified. We had the hamachi sashimi and clam/shrimp appetizer. Both were very good. We ordered 3 entrees.. the scallops were fantastic. The red wine braised short ribs were perfect. It’s was a unique style as they had some succotash with the potatoes. Then finally we had the tomato risotto with shrimp. We brought our own bottle of wine and they opened it and poured for us even before our table was ready. Will definitely go back. Reminded me of dining in Charleston.

This is our favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Elevated but unpretentious - I always find myself wanting to order everything on the menu. The service is exceptional, inviting, and personal. Chef Sam has created a really special place.

One of the best restaurants in Charlotte because you know the quality is consistently GREAT and the menu is updated frequently (which I love) and is based of seasonality and freshness. Great for date night or for bringing people from out of town.

Small restaurant which can make it a little noisy but not too bad. Excellent wait staff, in fact, some of the best in Charlotte. We had 2 different apps, entrees, and deserts. All interesting and delicious. Some places like this leave you hungry because of small portions but we were full before desert. We ate every bit of desert as it was so good. Will be back soon. My new favorite restaurant.
