(READ the update) 9pm: Loved it! We loved the music (really good dj), the drinks (nice chilled bartenders, no pun intended) and the ambiance... and the security guys, they greeted us, were super nice. And another thing we liked is that there's no cover! So the money can be spent on drinks...good idea! đĄ Update (11 pm): weeeeell, as the night progressed the people at this place became less friendly...I understand they have to make money. Do not come to this place if you are on a tight budget. We all college students are, we Know that. But hey! We still wanna have fun and decompress... only 1 star cause security people did a 180 on us, regular people. But this is what reviews are for...still an ok place to spend like 30 minutes or so, no more than that (good hopping bar, get 1 drink, get out of there!)

This is not retro at all. Dj play some abba, kc and other music. This is just a rebrand of sip. Charge 10 dollars for downstairs with 10 people down there. I am a DJ and you have the crowd if you do this right. Same thug place

My husband and I checked out RetroBar for their grand opening weekend and we can't wait to go back! Cheap drinks, fast service, Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Donna Summers...say less. Everyone was singing like it was a karaoke bar. Such an awesome time and a great vibe!
Oh my gosh, I'm so excited this place opened!! I kept saying that we need a re-emergence of Roxbury and this place is it. I've been twice already in the ~10 days it's been open. The music is so fun and I love that they brought in the music videos. Everyone there is so happy. Can't wait to go back again and again.

This place is stealing everyoneâs money. They auto add a tip and donât tell you. Then, if you use the hand machines to pay, they add another tip on top of the tip that was auto added. The second tip is also based off of the drink price, first tip, and taxes. And the music was just ok. Surely isnât close to Roxbury. My friends $9 Titoâs was $14 and some change.

Downstairs bartenders working 8/23 had the worst attitude. Asked if they had a drink menu and it clearly upset them that I didnât know drink menus were only upstairs. The rolling of the eyes and looking at each other back and forth was not professional. So instead of spending money at retro bar, I left and took my money elsewhere đ

If you follow them on Instagram, and youâve ordered some of the drinks that theyâve shown, you already know that that is not what you get (drink pictured from IG, NOT what you receive). You get a watered down, worthless cocktail where you canât even taste the alcohol. I asked for the pop rock and drop it when I was there, and I got a tall plastic pint glass (The picture depicts it in a martini glass) with barely any alcohol, a lemon slice, and pop rocks poured on top of the lemon slice. And I donât want pop rock powder, I want the actual piece of candy, as depicted. And when I ordered the drink, it took them about 10 minutes to make it because the bartenders stood there like they didnât know what I was asking for and they seemed to not know how to make the drink. Other than that, itâs a pretty good atmosphere, the art is great, but it does get crowded pretty quick and of course, being in a bar, people will push into you and bump you and not say excuse me.
