Food took a long time. Our syrup order was forgotten, and at the end it turned out that they had only 3 shrimps left.Oysters were unfortunately not at all exciting. Now this is my personal note, I felt that clam chowder needed to be well blended, it was a lot of pieces. Especially celery was in chunks, which is added as a thickener. And the meat in there didn’t seem like a clam.

Made reservations for mothers day. 3 minutes in we realized the huge mistake and left. Health Dept score of 90. Sticky table and menus. Other patrons leaving without eating because they were not served after extreme wait times. The menu was brief and sad. My wife went to the ladies room then returned quickly and said "run". The employees were NOT friendly. If I want food poisoning, I don't have to pay $200

This is the second Mothers Day we have spent here because my mom liked it last time. The food was just okay, I wouldn't scream it from the roof tops but I can tell you I have had worse. Service was pretty slow but the server was very nice. From the time we sat to the time we left was almost 2 hours which is fine since we weren't in a hurry. Would I recommend it, likely not but I wouldn't really say anything bad either.

This was a terrible experience. We made a reservation for 530. Arrived at the restaurant and none of the tables were clean. We weren't seated until 30 mins after our reservation. Then we waited another 15 mins before we were given water on a hot patio. Ultimately we, and several other tables around us, left due to the slow service and lack of hospitality. The employees were downright rude when we said we were leaving and unapologetic about the situation. It was Mother's Day and a truly disappointing experience. We will not be back.

We went there yesterday for Mother's Day Brunch, I must say the food is usually pretty good! The whole fish was excellent as well as the clam soup, however, the staff is going to run this place to the ground. The hostess looked like she had an attitude the whole time-- Not friendly at all. Our waitress did her best despite being very short staffed. Food took over an hour to come out. I understand it was Mother's Day, however, management should have prepared for this busy day or limit reservations. My husband and I enjoy this place, however, service has been lacking the last 2 visits. I feel like it's going down hill. Patio did not look clean and definitely need a customer service class for waiters.

RockSalt has a great happy hour with half-price oysters on Saturday afternoons. On our last visit the hostess apologetically said she was currently the only server, and asked us to sit at any clean table. The short staffing was noticeable, with some un-bussed tables around us on the patio, but the staff (including, I assume, some from back of the house) worked heroically to keep things moving and our food came out quickly. The raw bar was as good as ever (especially the clams), and everyone was friendly and clearly working very hard on a tough day. Kudos to the staff!

Sat outside on the patio and had half shell oysters, grilled oysters, and crab cakes. Also had their goat cheese salad. I'm sad I didn't take any pictures - everything was delicious!! Will be back again.

Couldn't rate the food because we never got our order after being there for one hour. Service was extremely poor, but not sure if it was a kitchen issue and the servers end up being apologetic saying your food will be out shortly, three times. We left. My husband paid for his drink. Very disappointed because this place is good, usually.

Enjoyed a nice birthday meal for the Mrs with our children before heading to the ACC championship game. Wonderful evening. Scrumptious cuisine. Tremendous atmosphere. Truly enjoyed ourselves & the memories made.

Very good stuffed trout. Mac and cheese would be worth going just to get it. Oysters are their specialty

They were incredibly understaffed so service was extremely slow. There also didn't appear to be a manager, food/drink runner, water filler, plate clearer, or host on staff. I love this place so it was very disappointing.

Great experience, we opted for a restaurant we haven't visited for brunch. Entree was magnificent! Oysters were on point. Couldn't really get into the Prosecco... was a little different. But I still will give this restaurant FIVE STARS!!!!! The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu....the ambience was amazing and perfect for an Easter Sunday Brunch.

I have passed this place a thousand times. This was my first time stopping. The waitress was amazing. I was sole. She seated me immediately. (It was around 1 when I arrived, probably the rush was over). I was seated on the heated patio, and it was lovely.Their oysters on the half shell were 1/2 for happy hours 12:00 - 16:00.The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained the choices. The food was delicious ? I had grilled oysters (not available at the raw oysters price), but they were delicious . I also hadSuccotash ... my first time! The Succotash was yummy ... it was a little spicy but delicious.

It's...fine. Overpricing as a form of gatekeeping. The ambience is casual (natural wood and funky light fixtures) and the service is great. Nice drinks and no riff raff. But the menu is aggravating and, again, overpriced. The cheese/meat plate (which is ostensibly for sharing) is laughably small. 25$ for a dozen oysters? It feels more like a safe spot for the rich locals in Myers Park & Southpark than a destination. Go to Good Food or CO, or Hibiscus, if you want to treat yourself.Went back in 2024. It's probably worse. Service is below average. And the menu feels very limited.
