Never treated me right here with my own services. Been a while since I worked here, but i walked past the other day and immediately remembered why they're always closed. Nothing here is good as it once was. Don't know what changes they're going through, but definitely do not work there and do not go for food. It might not get to you, or will sadly, be undercooked. I'm still leaving out my work experience to spare them, but don't go here.

Former employee here. Closed the doors on us with zero warning in January. Refused to pay us despite begging for months. Don't do business with this guy, violates all kinds of health codes, and screws his employees over. His new restaurant finz and feathers will be the same story. Get people like this out of the restaurant game.

I ordered food from this restaurant this week. When my husband went to pick up the order, the doors were locked and the lights were off. I checked my email and realized that I had received an email indicating that the order had not been confirmed by the kitchen…but my card was charged and the money was taken from my account. So now I have to go the through a whole dispute process and prove that the restaurant was closed when Google said it was open and that I didn’t receive my order. I’m not sure if they’re closed permanently or not but call before you order to make sure you don’t have to dispute any charges.

Amazing little gem located in NoDa. Authentic Jamaican cuisine and great small comforting vibe. The oxtails were amazing and the jerk chicken was the best I've ever had. The rice was cooked perfectly and coming from a Dominican, the plantains were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Walked in no greeter. A worker sitting at a table with family or friends, told us to choose our seats. For these menu prices, have a host at the door.Nothing special about the food. We had veggie and beef empanadas. Hubby did not eat his veggie, because it was laying on cilantro. He's not a fan of cilantro and warned the waiter. It was included on the bill, although no one ate it, or asked if they could redo it. Were not fussy people. We shared an order of fritters, drizzled in a sauce. Too salty and the wet sauce was not needed. I had no issues with the beef empanada. Nothing to brag about. My husband ordered the veggie roti.. it was served with naan, not a roti. Roti is served in a wrap, not a bowl. Again my husband didn't fuss or ask for the roti. He ate it, nothing special about the channa. I had over wet Asian wings, literally floating in sauce, burnt on one side with macaroni and cheese, just okay. Not bad, not good. I prefer my Mac to be sliced and orange cheesy, it was lacking salt. Drinks were tasty.Window ceil and windows, needs to be dusted and cleaned Menu was in cheap loose-leaf, flexible three sheet covers. His menu had scratched out items. It was a great window to watch people passing by. R&B Christmas played on someone's cellphone, that alerted you to each text. Very annoying in the least. It was not Caribbean music. We would not recommend this to our Caribbean friends. One thing the menu is all over the place. Are they Trini, Puerto Rican, American or Jaimican? This menu had no true Jaimican representation. It reminds me of Anthony's, cooking for those who don't know better. The nerve to have a photo of NYC on the wall. This restaurant will suffer a quick demise in NYC. We know food well.

The food is excellent. I’ve had the jerk shrimp and jerk chicken. Both fantastic. The vegetable sides are amazing too. Service is great. I’m not sure why more people don’t go here. Better food and better value than most places in noda.

Coming to Roy's was not the original plan for the evening. The greeter standing outside suggested we come in and give them a try. I'm so glad that we did. The service was awesome, food was delicious, drinks were strong and atmosphere was warm. I have food allergies, and the cook baked my empanada to insure there was no risk of cross contamination from the oil. That was a nice surprise, since I usually end up just taking things off my order. It was a wonderful experience from start to end, and I'll definitely be returning!

This place was suggested to me. The parking is street parking meaning it can be challenging to find a spot. I ordered a Roy's Revenge while I waited for my food I smashed it. It was easy to drink with hints of lime and ginger. I had the jerk chicken nachos which had me dancing in my seat. The meat was tender the onions and peppers were flavorful. It was a lot I couldn't finish it. I also ordered the empanada duo one was veggie and one was chicken. I also had the cabbage just go ahead and smack someone, smh. The establishment was clean the server was friendly and well dressed. The music was nice. I will be back with guests.

How did I miss this place? OMG! Authentic Jamaican Caribbean inspired cuisine! Right in the NODA area. Roy’s Kitchen & Patio is a hidden gem! You can smell the taste of the food. Nice outdoor patio and bar. Definitely a spot you have to try!! We had the oxtails, yellow rice, mac and cheese, collard greens, authentic ginger beer, and margaritas. Absolutely a nice place to come enjoy a meal and great conversation.
