Grabbed some takeout for dinner and it was ready super fast! I ordered the Chirashi sushi rice bowl and was honestly shocked by how much fish they include. You get a great variety and it was all incredibly fresh.

Even though the place looked a bit outdated at first, the food tastes amazing. We love the Tootsie Roll and the Tuna Symphony — highly recommend trying them. Timing can vary; sometimes you have to wait a while, especially when it’s busy.

Late review but went for lunch a few months ago and had great service from James? I believe, who had good recommendations and invited me to order the surprise roll. I told them what elements I wanted and the chefs made me a DELICIOUS roll that was flavorful. I’ve ordered takeout from here too and it’s always good. I’m a loyal customer!

We have made the trip from Shelby to Charlotte to go to RuSans several times a year for almost 30 years now! They never disappoint. The sushi is always fresh and the selection is amazing. Highly recommend for the sushi lovers!

Always an excellent choice too have a mean and a couple drinks here. Been here a couple of times but couldn't imagine on a Monday during the holiday season that we'd have to wait a couple minutes for a table. Absolutely worth the wait. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.

Ru San's in Charlotte NC is one of my favorite sushi places to visit while in Charlotte . It's always crowded and they do take reservations but definitely worth the wait if you don't. The staff are friendly and welcoming and very busy so they don't spend much time talking with you. There is a large menu with many options including vegetarian. We enjoy the ahi tuna sashimi, a few different sushi rolls, plain noodles for the children and miso soup. Service is not fast but food is delivered hot and is worth the wait. They also offer carry out, which is convenient on school nights. If you're looking for a clean, friendly sushi restaurant this is the place to go. Highly recommend Ru San's!

Saw this spot on TikTok so I decided to give it a try, so glad I did! Prices reasonable and you get plenty of food. Everything was so fresh and delicious, the gladiator roll was really good!

I rarely leave negative reviews and usually only share positive experiences, but this one needs to be said. My husband and I are regulars here, which makes this even more disappointing.
We specifically came in for dessert (fried Oreos). When our waitress checked in, my husband asked when the kitchen closed and was told “in one minute.” Based on that, we placed our order immediately. Over 10 minutes later, the waitress returned to say the kitchen was closed and our order couldn’t be fulfilled— and the waitress blamed it entirely on the manager. I do also want to mention.. the experience with the waitress even prior to this incident was already unpleasant from the moment we sat down.
The core issue was poor communication, lack of accountability, and wasted time. This waitress has been here for years, so this wasn’t a training issue—it was a service issue. When we spoke to the manager, she acknowledged there had been prior issues with this employee and didn’t seem surprised.. the manager didn’t have nice things to say about her either.
While the manager was polite, there was no real effort to make things right. She asked if we wanted a discount on the food we had already eaten rather than proactively offering a solution, which felt half-hearted and we ended up without the discount anyways which is fine.
The food is good and the owners seem nice, but the service doesn’t match—and service is half the experience. Unfortunately, this visit ruined it for us.

Food was decent as always...service somewhat spotty, had to ask for refills...need to regulate temp in restaurant, one side extra hot as we were told heater was out on the other cooler side, so working side was cranking the heat. Value excellent.

Amazing, fresh, deliciously made sushi and nigiri. Even though it was full, we only waited 15 minutes to be seated. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food. One of the best sushi I have ever eaten. Definitely going back soon.
