There’s a current thread about most missed restaurants and you guys are being mentioned! Thought you’d like to hear that. You guys ruled!

Would actually give it less than a star. Wanted to try some award winning BBQ but the phone listed on the page was not in service. The street address goes from 211 straight to 227 no 215. On vacation this leaves a bad taste for Carolina BBQ

Saucemans WAS a great BBQ joint. Wish they'd make a comeback!

Was in town a few years ago on a work trip and was told I HAD to check out Sauceman's for Charlotte BBQ. Went with the standard brisket and pulled pork with the BBQ beans and fried corn and, because it was a surprise, the hush puppies. Everything was outstanding! Coming from West Texas, I like to think I've got a good gauge on BBQ and Sauceman's rated among the best I've tasted. Every element was great, the proteins carried outstanding smoke flavors and the textures were spot on. The sides were all among the best I've ever had. The fired corn was delicious and the texture was an added bonus, genius! The hush puppies and beans were spot on, texturally and with the flavors. I could not have been more happy with my Charlotte BQ experience on my day trip into the city.

They sucked. not good product. That's why you lost on barbecue pit masters and you are closed!

I had the ribs, brisket, white coleslaw & fried green tomatoes. Food had no real flavor. Smothering the ribs in their Love & Smoke BBQ sauce helped, some. Service was below average as well. After I was served my beer and food, did not hear from my waitress anymore until I was leaving. I am glad she did not ask how was my meal. No real atmosphere either. For me, the only plus was the local beers offered. If this is Carolina BBQ at its best, oh my!

If you love BBQ and you're in the Charlotte area, this is the place to go. They have won numerous awards for their BBQ and house made sauces, and as soon as you taste it, you will know why. The staff is phenomenal, the prices are affordable and the cuisine is some of the best the Queen City has to offer.

I work in an office near the airport and frequently get last minute lunch requests from various departments in our building. Sauceman's has never failed to fulfill an order for me on time and accurately. It's extremely difficult to get lunch brought in to our location on short notice, so I am glad that I can always count on them to have it ready for me to pick up.

Delicious food, had enough to bring home to reheat for lunch the next day. Tasted even better the next day.

Probably cannot go wrong here. Quarter Chicken, outstanding. Perfectly cooked, very meaty, and the sauce that came with - a great mix of smoke, tomato, mouth feel and hot spice. As a non-mayo person, loved the "red" (vinegar based) slaw. One suggestion - cook the greens a little less ; the brightness of the plant is a little lost in the sauce; good sauce, though.
