I was very excited to try this restaurant after reading about it in an article highlighting great brunch spots in Charlotte. The first time I visited the restaurant, we waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes before the bartender acknowledged us and told us we could seat ourselves. After seating ourselves we waited for 10 minutes and still no server even though there were only 3 tables with patrons. We ended up leaving since the service was so bad and there seemed to be only one server. On the second attempt, we came for brunch on Sunday at 2:20 and brunch is served until 3:00 according to the website. We seated ourselves as directed on the board at the front. After 2 minutes, the sever said she would be with us in a minute and walked into the back. She returned 12 minutes later with menus and asked us for our drink orders. We said we would start with mimosas and water. The waitress looked at my phone sittting on the table and said that they were actually supposed to be closed at 2:00 but they could try and get us served however they were out of a lot items such as hash browns and grits. The whole situation was extremely poor service, the fact that we waited for menus for so long and there were no other tables on our side of the restaurant with patrons, we were not told when we first walked in that they weren't serving food and it seemed like the waitress was trying to dissuade us from eating there with excuses. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

I had recently read a lot of good reviews of this place from fellow Yelpers. Since it was the only restaurant part of Yelp restaurant week that was close enough to work to go to for lunch, we decided it was a good reason to check it out. I'm so glad we did -- it was awesome. It wasn't very crowded at lunch so we were able to be started right away. There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu, but we decided to go with the Adam Bomb burger and the True Southerner sandwich. They were both delicious. The burger was actually cooked medium rare how I ordered it which almost never happens. The True Southerner was very filling and a great combination. The fried were delicious and the Mac and cheese was pretty good too. You could tell they really care about the quality of the ingredients. We decided to all split the banana pudding, peach berry cobbler, and butterscotch bread pudding for dessert. I thought the bread pudding was dry and was disappointed by it. The other two were amazing though. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. This place is operating under the radar in Charlotte! I highly recommend checking it out!

I have been to this place a few times. The first time, we waited a long time to get seated. Apparently they only had one waitress, and a bartender. That day, the food was pretty good, The Omelette was very hot which is a good thing but the rest of the food was lukewarm. The second time I went which was a few days ago, we were seated immediately. We took advantage of the mimosa bar and loved it. For brunch I got chicken and waffles, the chicken was cooked to perfection and season to perfection as well. The waffle was again lukewarm and very spongy.

This under rated gem is amazing. It is one of my favorites. The atmosphere is very relaxed and is not very busy in the evenings, which makes it a great place for dates. The food is spectacular. I usually get the salmon, which has a crispy glaze on top and comes with horseradish mashed potatoes and Asian veggies. Soul rolls are friggin yum. Their mixed drink selection is solid as well. Over all, I highly recommend this joint.

I would absolutely go back next time I'm in Charlotte! Visually, I loved the exposed brick and local art on display (and for sale). The service was top-notch! We had the grilled caesar salad and cracked-pepper salmon BLT. I wasn't very hungry but was so happy we shared both plates! They were amazing! I eavesdropped on the neighboring table, and the gentleman sounded like he's had everything on the menu - and has loved it all. Looking forward to my next meal there... and I'll try to save room for dessert!
