We started out with cocktails and fire shots before our group was all here, then we were escorted to our table and were quickly seated. They took our app and drinks all came out in a reasonable time, there was an awesome fire dancer that came by for a free show. Atmosphere was awesome. I had the lobster sushi roll and the yellow tail jalapeño app. We had the rock shrimp and the king crab app as well. All was fantastic. We will be going back!

We went here for a friend’s birthday with a group of 20 people. The food and drinks were great and service was equally awesome. I would definitely go back!

Came here on a Sunday night, really excited to try this new spot since it recently opened. The ambiance at SAVU is beautiful, very upscale and inviting.
Unfortunately, the experience was immediately dampened by cleanliness issues. At the bar, I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio. The bartender rinsed the glass, but it was left with visible water marks. Upon closer inspection, there were noticeable lip smudges along the rim, which was extremely off-putting. I requested a new glass, but the replacement had the same issue.
Later, I ordered the vegetable hibachi, which was delicious. However, when I requested utensils, both the fork and butter knife were dirty and visibly smudged. For a restaurant positioning itself as high-end and charging premium prices, clean and properly polished glassware and silverware should be non-negotiable. Because of this, I ended up requesting disposable chopsticks since I no longer trusted the cleanliness of the dishware.
This location also includes a mandatory 15% gratuity, which I’m fine with, but it did seem to affect attentiveness. From my observation, the bartenders were not very proactive or responsive in checking in with guests.
Overall, the space is nice and the food was good, but the lack of attention to cleanliness (especially with utensils and glassware) was a major turnoff. I’m giving this place three stars. I might return for the food, but I do question the sanitation standards.

SAVÚ is an Asian Fusion restaurant in downtown Charlotte that we wanted to try. It's newer as of this review. Finding it was tricky at first, depending on the way the GPS guidance takes you, because their signage is a little dark (at least from the Graham St. side). It's located right at the corner of W. Trade and Graham. We parked in the paid parking lot across the street from the restaurant as it was closest. You can make reservations and choose from three options: dining room, high-top, or Japanese garden.
The decor is a vibe, and the lighting is low but warm. There is also a very nice patio area out front that you can tell will be packed when warmer weather arrives. We were greeted warmly at the host stand. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and she made solid menu recommendations. Their manager checked in on us too.
We started with the Spicy Rock Shrimp which was tasty. We also tried the Signature SAVÚ Hibachi with jumbo shrimp and the NY Strip with mashed potatoes. Both of these dishes came out with unexpected presentations that were pleasant surprises. In addition to the jumbo shrimp, there were smaller shrimp underneath. Both dishes were great takes on their more traditional versions.
There is a really nice bar and curtained off VIP area downstairs. We didn't make it upstairs this trip, but from what we could hear, it sounded lively. They had several other menus items that are on my list to try such as the Golden Geisha sushi roll with lobster, the Black Truffle Pasta and the Garlic Lobster Lo Mein. I had wine this visit, a nice Riesling, but they have some handcrafted cocktails I'd also like to try. There's a lot more to explore, so I plan to return soon!

Ate here last Friday and had food poisoning . All I order was the Dragon Kiss Roll . I was so excited to try this place but ended up sick to my stomach about an hour after eating . The decor and atmosphere is beautiful but that wouldn’t bring me back due to this experience.

SAVÚ delivers more than a meal, it’s a full sensory experience. The music, the lighting, the design, and the flow of the space make it feel like a high-end dining lounge you’d expect in a major cosmopolitan city. If you enjoy experiential dining with a luxury edge, this is the place.”

Our waitress was amazing! Too loud of music. The sushi was good but why did my nigiri have collard greens on it? The shrimp appetizer was good. The chicken hibachi was absolutely horrible. It was very greasy, the chicken was whole, and it was very floral in taste. Definitely won't be back.

Only gets a 3 due to the service and the general atmosphere wasn’t a life sucking void. Japanese fusion is an insult to the good people of Japan. Some of the absolute worst “Japaneseish” food I have ever had in my life, along with extremely deceptive marketing. 256 dollar bill for my wife and I, and we didn’t even enjoy the food. Service was great. She knew exactly what I was asking about the rock shrimp, and gave me a honest explanation. I really appreciate it. Please do better with respecting the culture you represent with this restaurant

The first time my wife and I went it was during their soft open time and it was very enjoyable. However, we just visited for our 2nd time, on 11/26 and we were left with disappointment… The flavors of the food changed compared to the first time. We ordered a lot of the same items since we enjoyed it so much initially. It was nice to see another beautiful spot offer hookah. That said, the hookah and atmosphere alone is not enough to return any more. Lastly, in my experience, it’s poor management to charge service fees and include gratuities for less than 7 guests. I wish you luck!
