Small place so if it’s packed it’s hard to move around and hear people. The pool is fun when there aren’t try hard dudes packing around it. Drinks are good and bar tenders are usually good at being quick to service!

The moment we walked in we were made to feel like we didn’t belong. The staff immediately ID’d us in a way that felt unnecessarily dramatic, like they assumed our IDs were fake before even looking at them. It wasn’t just about checking age it was the tone and attitude that came with it. The entire interaction was uninviting. We ended up leaving shortly after because it was clear we weren’t welcome. Definitely wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a place that treats its guests with basic respect.

Came here this past Sunday with a group of 9 people (including myself) and had a very weird experience. I have been to Small Bar before and have never been ID’d unless I was ordering a drink. When we entered the bar, we sat down and immediately were told to get up and show our ID’s. The female bartender that was checking all of our ID’s was bending them and just had the most unwelcoming look on her face. Can’t tell if she didn’t wanna serve 9 people or if she’s just rude. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere.

Had friends visit from out of town and wanted to show them Charlotte so we took them to small bar which we frequently visit. Today would be our last. As soon as we walked through the door the bartender immediately asked for our identification which is totally fine but she was very rude about it. Would not recommend to anyone.

It was a really fun night! Too fun for Tuesday, to be honest I would put 10 stars if I could. The only disappointing thing that Darian (she is 10/10 btw) doesn’t reply on my sms, but probably I deserved it lol *will try again* Definitely will return 🔥

This place has live bands on work nights when they know they are right beside apartment complexes.. people have to go to sleep so they can work in the morning. Not a hard concept to grasp
This place is magical. From the mean female bartenders to the cold twisted tea on draft, it is what dreams are made of. One of the best dive bars in town. Plus they allow dogs and the DJ will play “higher” by creed the whole night. It’s the perfect place for a dive bar baptism. Also the old bald bartender is awesome & super friendly.
