Service was absolutely excellent. Staff is phenomenal . So was the atmosphere. Very clean and professional. The food tastes excellent.

I went in this place for the first time. The lady that was there was so nice. The place was very clean and cute. The cupcakes looked so good I couldn't decide what to get. I went with a lemon drop and strawberry and let me tell you, these were the absolute best cupcakes I ever had hands down. The literally melt in your mouth!! I will be back!

I had the Banana Pudding Milkshake. I had low expectations but they did not disappointed! It was 100% delicious and worth every cent. I highly recommend the Banana Pudding Milkshake!!!

Yesterday, my daughter and I visited Smallcakes, and I am extremely disappointed with the poor service we received. This is not the first time we’ve had an unpleasant experience at this particular location, but yesterday’s encounter left me very upset. I need someone to address this issue as soon as possible.

We recently moved to the area, and my daughter loves stopping here for sweets. Until now, we’ve never had any issues. However, during my birthday weekend on 2/22 and again on 3/6, I encountered the same young girl working behind the counter who is consistently rude and unprofessional. Yesterday was the final straw. Her attitude toward me and my toddler daughter was completely unacceptable.

We ordered ice cream, one cupcake, and macarons to go, and from the moment we approached the counter, her demeanor was dismissive and hostile. She rudely asked, “What do you want?” without any courtesy or professionalism. Concerned, I asked her if she was okay, but instead of responding appropriately, she looked over to her sister as if my question was somehow offensive. I understand that working with the public can be stressful, but this is now the second time I’ve experienced this kind of behavior from her.

What made the situation worse was how she handled our order. She slammed our items onto the counter and, when my toddler asked for a spoon, she tossed it at us in an incredibly disrespectful manner. How unprofessional and rude can someone be? To make matters even more uncomfortable, when I went to take a picture of the establishment, her sister confronted me and asked why I was taking a picture. I told her to mind her business, as I was well within my rights. As we were leaving, the young girl sarcastically said, “Have a nice day,” while her sister mumbled something under her breath.

This behavior is unacceptable, and I am deeply disappointed. I’ve always had great experiences with the Black women who work here—they’ve been kind, professional, and welcoming. This is not about race, but it’s worth noting that the customers in line before me received excellent service from this same young girl, while I was treated poorly. This pattern is concerning.

I will not be returning to this location until this employee is either retrained or replaced. I didn’t even want to pay for my items yesterday, but I did it for my daughter’s sake. Moving forward, I will take my business elsewhere unless this issue is addressed. I expect a response to this matter as soon as possible.

First time wanting to give this spot a try tonight. My friend and I walked into the store at 7:54pm and the cashier says “We are closed”. We stepped out and looked at the sign that says that the store closes at 8pm. I walked back inside and asked if they close at 8pm or 7:55pm. The cashier RUDELY continues to say “we are closed”. Told her I would leave a review. If you’re going to close at 8pm, close at 8pm instead of 7:55. Or KINDLY explain that the register is closed and you are no longer serving customers and lock the door. Horrible customer service.

This is the only Smallcakes that always has at least one gluten free cupcake flavor available to order at anytime!! The owner is always pleasant as well as her team!! Thank you.

If you want to support a local black-owned small business, with AMAZING customer service, this is your place :) Oh and they have the BEST cupcakes ever!!
I first visited them during Covid and met the husband and wife owner - they were so lovely! Thank you and your staff for being so kind to your customers!
Their cupcakes are amazing, and I love the variety of new ones they come out with. My fav is the wedding cake, my husband loves the red velvet, and my nieces have loved all of them. However, after reading the reviews and seeing a pic of the smash cake thing - I'm trying that next!!

Messaged them a week before my bday about a simple custom cake and they never responded. Bad business!

Was disappointed. Got vegan cupcakes and thought the cake part was flavored but just plain and too spongy, like undercooked. Lemon frosting was good but not much else. Ended up throwing them out and they are not cheap! Will not go there again.
