I stumbled by this spot while I was running errands. Was perfect for a Saturday splurge. I'm a fan of icing & they didn't disappoint. However, the cake was moist too. Was very clean inside. Though there were other customers, I was greeted right away. Trying to lose weight is my only reason I haven't returned.

I'll just be very honest-- because Yeh! So 4 dollars for 1 scoop of ice cream! So in reality 2 scoops of ice cream I'd be spending 10 dollars. No offense to ANYBODY, but in 2025 WE DON'T HAVE THAT! Six dollars a cookie. I can't. But everything looked very pretty. Also customer service seemed nice. I'm sure the food tastes good but I'm just not willing to dive in that deep for so little. We had ice cream and cupcakes. The workers were extremely friendly and helpful! The ice cream was rich and creams. The cupcakes were rhe perfect size, fluffy frist8ng, and moist cake.

I came in last minute—just two days before my granddaughter’s birthday—seeking help for a customized Moana cake, and the owner went above and beyond to make it happen. He was so friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. He jumped right in without hesitation and saved the day! When we picked up the cake, it was exactly what we asked for—beautifully done and absolutely perfect for the occasion. And the taste? So moist and delicious—you could taste the love baked into it. If you’re ever in need of a custom cake, or even just want to treat yourself to one of their specialty cupcakes or the most delicious ice cream around, I highly recommend stopping by Smallcakes. If you are looking for a bakery that sells quality baked goods, then look no further. Small cakes utopia is the place to go. I recently purchased my granddaughter's graduation cake from them and she's not a fan of sweets but after having one of CJ's creations she was very pleased and did not give her cake away. One of my favorite cupcakes is the peaches and cream. The sponge simply melts in your mouth. The buttercream isn't too sweet, it's one of the best cakes I have tasted so far. So if you're looking to get some delicious cupcakes or need a cake for a special occasion, check out Smallcakes utopia. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Love love love this place.
The small cupcake style cakes are so good. Red velvet is my favorite. They also have several different ice cream flavors. On my next visit I will give it a try.

This is a great place. I have no pictures because it was so good we ate our ice cream before I could snap a picture. We also got the small cakes in the jars. Everything had a great flavor and was very fresh! I’m not local but I’d order if they could ship up north. Great job!

I called in from New York to do a gender reveal for my aunt who lives in Charlotte and Cj the store manager made the process very simple and smooth!!! I highly recommend this place whether you’re in town or out!!

People were nice enough and it smelled great in there but the ratio of ingredients are off which I can only assume is a set recipe so not really a reflection of the particular store but the brand itself. The whole aesthetic and presentation is great but the taste , it's a no from me dawg.

Was in Charlotte for the weekend and stopped in to give it a try. My first time even hearing of this place, and the associate was very helpful with helping me pick a flavor. I ended up going with the pink vanilla, I think it’s called. From the first hold, it was the heaviest cupcake I’ve ever held, lol. The buttercream icing was perfect, not too sweet. The cupcake was very moist, and I was really scared it would be dry. Overall, I’d rate it a 10/10.

I’ve been going to Smallcakes in University Charlotte for years, and they never disappoint! The service is consistently amazing and everyone there is always so friendly.
I picked up a cake today for my fiancé’s 30th birthday and they nailed it. It was exactly what I envisioned. Also, the quality was outstanding, and it was so affordable.
