I cannot say enough great things about Smallcakes in Charlotte! I came in last minute—just two days before my granddaughter’s birthday—seeking help for a customized Moana cake, and the owner went above and beyond to make it happen. He was so friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. He jumped right in without hesitation and saved the day!

When we picked up the cake, it was exactly what we asked for—beautifully done and absolutely perfect for the occasion. And the taste? So moist and delicious—you could taste the love baked into it.

If you’re ever in need of a custom cake, or even just want to treat yourself to one of their specialty cupcakes or the most delicious ice cream around, I highly recommend stopping by Smallcakes. They’ve gained a loyal customer for life!

If you are looking for a bakery that sells quality baked goods, then look no further. Small cakes utopia is the place to go. I recently purchased my granddaughter's graduation cake from them and she's not a fan of sweets but after having one of CJ's creations she was very pleased and did not give her cake away. One of my favorite cupcakes is the peaches and cream. The sponge simply melts in your mouth. The buttercream isn't too sweet, it's one of the best cakes I have tasted so far. Love love love this place.
The small cupcake style cakes are so good. Red velvet is my favorite. They also have several different ice cream flavors. On my next visit I will give it a try.

This is a great place. I have no pictures because it was so good we ate our ice cream before I could snap a picture. We also got the small cakes in the jars. Everything had a great flavor and was very fresh! I’m not local but I’d order if they could ship up north. Great job!

I called in from New York to do a gender reveal for my aunt who lives in Charlotte and Cj the store manager made the process very simple and smooth!!! I highly recommend this place whether you’re in town or out!!

People were nice enough and it smelled great in there but the ratio of ingredients are off which I can only assume is a set recipe so not really a reflection of the particular store but the brand itself. The whole aesthetic and presentation is great but the taste , it's a no from me dawg.

Was in Charlotte for the weekend and stopped in to give it a try. My first time even hearing of this place, and the associate was very helpful with helping me pick a flavor. I ended up going with the pink vanilla, I think it’s called. From the first hold, it was the heaviest cupcake I’ve ever held, lol. The buttercream icing was perfect, not too sweet. The cupcake was very moist, and I was really scared it would be dry. Overall, I’d rate it a 10/10.

I’ve been going to Smallcakes in University Charlotte for years, and they never disappoint! The service is consistently amazing and everyone there is always so friendly.
I picked up a cake today for my fiancé’s 30th birthday and they nailed it. It was exactly what I envisioned. Also, the quality was outstanding, and it was so affordable.

I came in today at 12:12pm to order 2 jars. Today the service was subpar at best. The issue I had today was with Ivey, one of the workers. So it was very obvious that I wasn’t quite sure what certain jars had in them. The place doesn’t have pictures and the little bit of menu they have is very small. She seemed to get a little irritated with me because maybe she didn’t get what I was saying or what. The thing that got me was, I was trying to say what I wanted and she gave the other worker the side eye right in front of me. Trying to be funny. Look—had I been a little younger and more hotheaded or it could’ve been someone else that’s not so passive and it could’ve been a whole altercation. If you don’t like your job, working with customers—quit and find you something else. I appreciate the other worker for not engaging as he was helping another customer anyway. I even commented if it was a miscommunication or something. Either way maybe she should check that because if it had been a bad day for me I would’ve asked her what was the look for and we could’ve went from there. Other than that, the other worker named Josh was GREAT. Very helpful and he had good manners. To be clear, the 2 stars were strictly for her service. But Josh was great…Can’t say the same for everyone else.
