Great coffee shop in the middle of Noda. Full breakfast menu, some good sandwiches. Excellent biscuits. Coffee is top notch as well. Excellent service and there’s some good seating inside as well as outside on their patio or around some local trees.

Smelly Cat has been a staple of Charlotte for quite some time. In all that time, it's never disappointed me! Thanks for staying true, y'all.

I might sound mean, but I felt insulted when they list this spot as the top coffee place in Charlotte lol. coffee is very hmmmm. okay I think starbucks did a better job on cappuccino at least. no offense. very cute logo, kinda hip interior, and internet presence

The Cortado coffee was delicious. Bagel with lochs and cream cheese fresh and loaded up. Huge sandwich that could be shared by two people. Great ambiance inside. Only small critique is I would have preferred a glass or mug for my coffee instead of paper cup. Otherwise excellent experience.

What a cute little coffee house in Charlotte. We stopped by because of the name but we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of coffee and homemade breakfast quiche and pastries. Definitely stop by if you're in the area or stopping for the night!

First time here and we're already making plans to come back. I ordered the latte with coconut syrup and my husband had the latte with spiced brown sugar. Both were really delicious. The syrup was a nice amount of sweetness. We had excellent customer service. It was a nice day today so we didn't go inside. Very chill and casual; hope to come back soon.

The Smelly Cat has woven itself into the fabric of the NoDa community, embracing a people-centric ethos that sets it apart from the sterile franchises that dot the coffee landscape. The Smelly Cat exudes character, inviting patrons into a warm, cozy interior adorned with local art and bathed in the aroma of freshly roasted beans. Every day my Smelly Cat experience is truly extraordinary Chilling on the porch during the summer, cooled by gentle fans, or chatting in the shaded seating area surrounded by blooming flowers – the attention to detail in creating a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment is evident. And yes, there's even parking, a rarity in this bustling neighborhood. Now, let's talk about the in-house baked goods – a symphony of flavors that dances on your palate. Crafted with love and attention, these treats complement the coffee offerings perfectly. The Irish coffee, a signature drink, is an embodiment of indulgence, with crunchy sugar crystals atop cold foam, creating a delightful contrast to the richness of the roasted beans. But what truly elevates Smelly Cat is its family-owned and operated ethos. This isn't just a coffee shop; it's a community hub where you're not a customer but a cherished member of the Smelly Cat family. The staff, with their genuine warmth, welcome you by name, creating an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The owner's presence is felt in every corner, ensuring that every order is not just fulfilled but crafted with love and precision. The Smelly Cat Coffeehouse & Roastery isn't just a coffee shop; it's an experience, a celebration of community, culture, and the simple joy found in a cup of expertly crafted coffee. If you're in Charlotte, seeking more than just a caffeine fix, Smelly Cat is the destination where the aroma of authenticity and the spirit of NoDa blend seamlessly.

Smelly Cat Coffee is a fun option if you are over in the NoDA area. The coffee is on the smokier side. It wasn't necessarily my preference for roast but still a good cup of coffee. I really like their ethos around sustainability. The inside is really cute and great for studying. The baristas were nice at suggesting syrup flavors when I asked.

Outside counter area is a great idea though a little chaotic. It was rather busy when we arrived late morning on Sunday, so I couldn't imagine it during typical busy hours. Seems like a hopping little place with regulars who know what to do, where to go, and what the typically order. Definitely a place to stop and try if you're in the area.

The wait time is insane. If you’re going to try this place out, please order online. I ordered 2 caramel lattes with oat milk, and only 1 with an extra shot of espresso. Both drinks were wrong and they didn’t tell me which one had the extra shot. Both cups were labeled the exact same way. There was a woman asking questions about a job position. The lady at the pickup window advised her about availability and then got really snobby and said “I can’t answer your question. I have to go make drinks” and slammed the window on her. If she had that attitude while making coffee, there wouldn’t be a long wait time. It was not busy. Everyone who was already waiting before me looked extremely bothered by the wait time. Do not recommend.
